FDR is about to cost us $12 Billion!
Now, 70 odd years later, FDR’s great vision for America is about to cost us $12 Billion! Why? Because FDR, in a stroke of genius subsidized the price of toba
cco by creating a quota system where the quotas can be traded and inherited. Now, with the anti-tobacco movement alive and well, and tobacco farmers not so well, the Federal Government is seeking to end the program in the form of a buyout. The good news is that American tobacco farmers will now have to compete on the free market. The bad news is that people who have never stepped foot onto a tobacco farm own some of the quotas and may reap a huge reward.
