Bern;
that is a particularly nasty one to remove. It tendrils itself throughout the drive and installs itself into a protected directory that reloads itself every time you restart windows. There are some fixes that people have posted on the web, and they involve being able to do many things that include:
1. starting windows in safe mode
2. editing the system registry
3. unhiding files in the windows (and others) directories
4. deleting files
Editing the registry is a pain unless you know what you are doing and I would not recommend it unless you do, you can do more damage that the virus/spyware.
There are three programs that are generally good at removing these things and for the 75 bucks you would be better to purchase one of them and thus have it watching/guarding/removing this crap from your box on a regular basis. The three I recommend are:
PC Toolshttp://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/?ref=trial_mgsd
SpyBpuncerhttp://www.spybouncer.com/spyaff.asp
Pest Patrolhttp://majorgeeks.com/download1187.html
All three of these links have a free search from the web feature, go to the page, click the “scan your system” box and see if they find the program on your box. If they do, then you can consider purchasing it to remove the spyware. If not, don’t get that one.
Good luck.
