More C-BS Shenanigans and an Iraqi Blogger.
Bill at INDC Journal interviewed Richard Schlesinger from CBS regarding the recent story about the threat of re-instating the draft. He also talked with Sandra Genelius, a CBS Spokeswoman, and Linda Karas, the producer of the piece. He brought up some excellent points, not the least of which is that the e-mails Schlesinger referenced have been proven to be hoaxes. Hmm…does anyone else see a pattern here?
Unfortunately, as was pointed out in the comments, the fact that two bills currently in Congress calling for conscription were both introduced by Democrats was never addressed.
Reading through the comments I came across this:

Am just an Iraqi fellow, and this is my blog http://Iraqi4ever.blogspot.com
if I have some hits from here, that would make my day :)

That second word in his statement kinda bugged me, so I decided to check out his blog and write him. It’s really interesting so go check it out.
Here is my letter to him:

Hello Ferid,
I saw your comment on INDC Journal–nice blog. But one thing: “Just an Iraqi”? What’s that all about?
Sorry to hear you didn’t do well in your studies to be a dentist, better luck next time. I really need to check out Iraqi blogs more often, I’m really rooting for your country, and I believe most Americans are as well. Remember that freedom is never free, but it’s worth the sacrifices.
I blog at Bernard Chapin’s Chapin Nation: http://www.mensnewsdaily.com/blog/channel1/ if you care to read some conservative/libertarian rants.
WARNING! Bernard likes to post pics of scantily clad women so if this offends you, don’t go there. I have to tell women I meet this same thing which is a bummer, but Bernard insists it increases traffic (yeah, with horny guys in their pajamas! …heh.)
Anyway, Take care, Pete

Notice my sensitivity to different cultures?
Here’s his response:

Thanks for the e-mail and for your compliment about my blog :)
well these blog really changed or at least kept my opinion about how good are the American people, here this is always brainwash to people done by media, and some people just want to believe these lies for no reason, these blogs gave me a lot of opportunity to contact with American citizens, and I found that you are the best nation in world :)
By the way your friend must find another way of attracting people, like showing horny photos of him self (just kidding :P )

That’s the blogosphere: Spreading goodwill and uniting pajama people the world over.
