Gall….
Now that Osama Bin Laden in his tape today has done us the courtesy of telling us what we need to do to insure our safety, in essence vote for John Kerry, I think that it is “brass tacks” time.
There is a long tradition of inflated Arab rhetoric as anyone who has heard Miramar Khadafi, Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden knows.
What he is trying to do is obvious: to appeal to the ignorant and the Wellesley College types like Phil Donahue, Noam Chomsky and Susan Sontag (these two groups are not mutually preclusive, by the way) into getting George W Bush off his back. And with good reason.
One wonders whether Osama was an adviser in Afghanistan to the Taliban or had chats with Saddam who thought that George W Bush would cave in to the trumped up demonstrations. (He said this in an interview with the Egyptian media in November of 2002.
My gut response is that this guy has one hell of a nerve telling us what we should be doing when he has been in hiding for three years and his organization has done little.
Let’s keep him that way, or even better, find him and bring him to justice.
And also let’s realize that John Kerry is the well-groomed, well spoken tool that he has always been, first of the North Viet-Namese, then his wife and now Osama Bin Laden.
We can do this Tuesday that by voting for George W Bush.
