Peter Pan and the Grown-up
Of all the contemptible things that John Kerry has done, and we all know the list, from the thrown away medals, to meeting with the North Viet-Namese, to bringing Mary Cheney into the campaign, the most contemptible is what he has done as the leader of the party which is now out of power.
His idyllic Peter Pan promises about returning to the 90’s, about forming alliances with nations that have never expressed any desire to do so and reducing terrorism to “a nuisance” place him in the Neville Chamberlain-Pierre Laval category.
The world has changed; the 60’s are dead and we are in a potentially life-and-death situation.
Those are not words that I am recklessly tossing off for effect
The front page of today’s Philadelphia Inquirer shows a picture of Osama Bin Laden, the man who engineered the massacre of 2,700 on 9/11, pointing his finger admonishingly. The headline says that he is telling us what we need to do to insure our safety.
Anyone who believes that anything that this man says can be trusted is insane.
The goal of Osama Bin Laden is power and domination without limit.
We have seen his kind before.
There names were Hitler and Stalin.
George W Bush is not promising us an easy time.
And he is right.
But one definition of a good friend and a real leader is someone who tells you the truth even though you don’t want to hear it.
Let John Kerry go back to wind-surfing which seems to be a appropriate sport for him since he knows how to change with every shift in the breeze.
And send George W Bush back to Washington.
