2005 Predictions
I predict that in 2005 Iran will figure prominently in the news-probably first or second quarter of ‘05. It is time to confront Iran about it’s nuclear ambitions. A nuclear Iran would be the greatest threat to world stability. A nuclear Iran could sink the world into an abyss that it could not crawl out of for a long long time. I predict that the U.S. will take a harder line on Iran, but it will be Israel who will take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Israel cannot afford to let a state that believes and has stated that Israel must be destroyed to go nuclear-and they won’t. This of course will increase tensions in the mideast where tensions are already at an all-time high. This situation does not provide ideal options-just an unacceptable one and a lousy one. But Iran will not provide a peaceful resolution that includes verifiable proof of the elimination of nuclear ambitions. This will give Hamas more propaganda to dispense to the ignorant masses-thereby increasing terrorism. An alternative would be that the Iranian people themselves take control of their government and become a peaceful neighbor. Ain’t gonna happen. I believe that Hillary Clinton will visibly support a strong posture towards Iran but will criticize the Bush administration anyways. It will be part of the synthesis of the New Hillary for ‘08: a strong-on-defense-Democrat. She is going after the women that the Democrat’s lost in 2004 and any men she can pick up also in the process. (After being sworn in as President, Hillary will quickly commence a 4 year campaign against men, fathers.)
I’d like to throw out an idea to my fellow bloggers here on Chapin Nation. Do any/all of you have predictions for 2005? Do you agree or disagree with my prediction? I’d like to offer a suggestion that some/all of us post a prediction for 2005 or otherwise respond to an already posted prediction. Any takers?
