UN says killing of millions is not genocide

Ingrid at Sudan Watch sent me a link to the LA times article that says what happened and is happening in Sudan is not genocide.

If it isn’t, I’m not sure what genocide means. How many people have to die? How many people have to be tortured and starved? How many people have to be driven from their homes? At least Kofi says Sudan is in violation of gross humanitarian norms, but the reluctance to use the proper term because of the political implications it may have is telling about the inefficacy of the United Nations.

For more info on the current state, check out Prof. Eric Reeves paper here and a news article about a recent attack on Sudanese protesters here
