A young Palestinian man has been arrested at the Temple Mount with a knife. When questioned why he was armed, he admitted he was there to find someone Jewish and kill them.
Jerusalem police on Wednesday arrested a 23-year-old Palestinian man at an entrance to the Temple Mount who was found carrying a kitchen knife, police said.
The suspect, a resident of the West Bank village of Tzurif, had aroused the suspicion of police stationed at the holy site who found the knife and a Koran in his possession.
During his initial police interrogation, the suspect said that he came to the Temple Mount to stab a Jew for “personal reasons,” Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
