Terri Schiavo’s Battle Over: Indifferent Depravity Wins

2005-03-31
By

The young woman who had become the subject of a US euthanasia controversy passed away Thursday. Her parents were not allowed at her bedside, at the time of her death. Terri Schiavo’s estranged husband, Michael, had said that Terri would not have wanted to live in her “persistent vegetative state”, just as her friends and family advised that Terri would not have chosen death by starvation and dehydration. Note: For those who still staunchly hold to their contentions that feeding and hydration tubes “maintain life artificially” (they do not), consider the fact that Terri was also denied any attempts to take ice chips, water or food orally. This was a deliberate and planned euthanasia, folks.

For any who wonder which side of the Schiavo case the ACLU weighed in on…it was the side chanting for Terri’s death. This is not a surprise, as it comes from an organization that is staunchly pro-death for all except the most heinous criminals…and ACLU members.

Terri’s family and friends had contradicted Michael Schiavo’s controversial assertions by saying that Terri would not have consented to any remote semblance of this type of death. Neither would she consent to her own murder. Also controversial was whether or not Terri was in a true ‘vegetative state’. Many doctors, other than Judge Greer’s court appointed physicians, had advised that Schiavo was probably not in a vegetative state but, in a state of “limited consciousness”. Still others said that Terri was responsive, alert and strongly appeared to fully comprehend what had been communicated to her. During the court hearings on the Schiavo case, those who testified in favor of Terri’s life and her need for physical therapy essentially advised that Judge Greer would not consider testimony that contradicted that of Michael Schiavo. Sworn affidavits from those plaintiffs challenging Michael’s statements were presented to the court. Judge Greer summarily dismissed them. Requests for a P.E.T. scan and an MRI were refused by Judge Greer. Besides, from the court’s viewpoint, the case had gone on for far too long. Greer, Michael Schiavo and his euthanasia-advocate attorney Felos had, apparently, already decided that the disabled Terri Schiavo must die.

Multiple appeals of Judge Greer’s decision were attempted, including the US Congressional “Terri’s law” that was enacted and presented to Judge Greer. With perceptible contempt, Terri’s law was then ignored by Greer and the courts. The courts have seized the scepter and are now the lawmakers and rulers of the land. The other two government branches have been successfully rendered impotent and unnecessary. As an example, a De Novo review was requested by Congress and sent to federal Judge Whittemore. However, Whittemore declined the De Novo request; choosing, instead, to consent to Greer’s prior rulings. As evidenced in the Schiavo case, the Executive and Legislative branches now seem to cower in confrontations with judges. Congress is now an advisory panel to the judiciary’s power position.

Florida’s Adult Protective Services attempted to act upon Florida state law by taking Terri into protective custody. Judge Greer rendered that legitimate statute null and void when he ruled that it could not be acted upon. Judges trump all others. When Florida State Law Enforcement members advised the Pinellas County police that they were en route to take Terri Schiavo into protective custody (which was within that department’s legal authority and purview), the Pinellas police and Sheriff’s departments advised them that local law enforcement was ‘siding with Judge Greer’ and if they attempted to take Schiavo into protective custody, there would be a “showdown”. Local judiciaries are now trumping both state and federal Executive and Legislative branches of government. There is no more ‘balance of powers’ and, most certainly, ‘3 equal branches of government’ no longer exist.

For weeks we watched the media event, as a young woman fought for her right to live. If she had not maintained some level of sentience, she would not have battled death that strongly…and for so long. Now that she is now gone, there are those who are breathing a sigh of relief and quietly smiling to themselves. And, for the moment, evil has won. Terri’s autopsy has been requested by Michael Schiavo. Terri Schiavo, contrary to her family’s request, will be cremated and buried in the Schiavo family plot.

Terri’s friends and her family, the Schindlers, said she fought bravely for the many days she survived after her feeding and hydration tubes had been removed. But, others, in the name of indifferent depravity, were ultimately allowed to fulfill one of their final solutions…the highly-visible beginning exterminations of the disabled. The culture of death has now planted its fangs firmly into our throats. Via abortion on demand (with no concern as to the trimester), for years this cult has decided what constitutes the beginnings of life and whether or not that life should be born. Now, this sect has manipulated itself into the position of dictating the criteria that they decide is the end of life and which, if any, lives will be allowed to continue to live. Terri’s life was not one of them. Our prayers are with the Schindler family, Terri’s friends and all of the others who fought so valiantly for her life.

Now, do you hear the sucking sounds of the death cults’ mouths at your throats? Can you finally feel the blood gushing from your bodies into theirs? If not, both your senses and your humanity are already dead.

“Sher Zieve” is nothing more than a text string.
The website bio identifies the gender as female.

This is all that can be taken as fact.

Whether the person is in real life male or female or even a specific individual is entirely unknown.

Regarding Terri Schiavo: No one need to worry. We can all document our personal intentions to be “kept alive by any means available as long as our bodies have not yet decomposed.” Those that would feel imprisoned in a body that doesn’t function on its own can document their intent to “remove all artificial life support under specified conditions” and be allowed to die naturally.

Interesting how the Mr. Bush can be so “compassionate” and adamant about a hospital’s right to make money off of keeping a body showing minimal life signs, and yet completely lie about the information he was given regarding weapons of mass destruction to get the American public to agree to sacrifice the lives of thousands of healthy young men and women so he can get even with a small-time despot who used to be pals with Mr. Rumsfeld but lost stature after insulting Mr. Bush the Elder.

Don’t get me wrong. I certainly don’t support Mr. Hussein. It’s just that the strategy and reasons for Mr. Bush’s regime change invasion don’t line up with the publicly claimed Republican ideals and values.

By the way, Sher Zieve is a woman.
And the autopsy is only to confirm the cause of death, which we all know what the cause is.

    -Jake

PS How many men named Sher do you know? Well, then again, the left is not known for posessing masculine men.

Truly a hilarious attempt at an argument. Perhaps next time it should within a reasonable time frame so that it might be subject to scrutiny, or was that what you were attempting to avoid. I wonder…

The “doctors” used by the courts never spent enough time with Terri to diagnose PVS, they were all connected with the euthanasia movement. The 9 doctors who supported the Schindlers had a great deal more credibility as they were actual neurologists, most were quite highly acclaimed, and most spent much more time with her than those appointed by Felos. Even on video she displayed responses that are impossible to dismiss as mere reaction, which is completely against the PVS diagnoses. In addition there were the prior-filed affidavits that she could speak and swallow, also against PVS. However, those who filed them received a gag order.

What really sad is the attempt to imply that republicans are two-faced about government power. Of course it overlooks one slight fact … The Judiciary is part of the government. See, like Ruby Ridge and Waco, Republicans don’t like the idea of the Government being able to kill citizens who have not committed crimes. It’s part of their silly fear that as the government gains the right to kill without criminal activity it will lead to death and oppression – much like the 3rd Reich. The Governments ability to force the starvation of an innocent woman is one of those little things we want the Federal Government to prevent. (And yes it was forced since the police insured that no one gave her any food or water even without the feeding tube.) See Conservatives believe the it is the Governments sole reason for existence, much less its responsibility, is to protect the rights of the people, among which is the right to live unless specifically expressed otherwise. We want the Government to exist; we just don’t want it victimizing law-abiding citizens. Otherwise we would be anarchists. But it seems that the left doesn’t quite see how granting the power to kill non-criminals slowly leads to much more damage than “Big Business” could ever do. (Perhaps if our schools weren’t socialized, you would have learned enough history to know that.) However, it’s over now. Terri’s dead. Precedence is established. The decent has begun. (http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43723)

So, as one good German to another, let me extend a friendly “Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Judiciary” to you.

There are several errors in Mr. Zieve’s opinion piece. One is that there was any credibility in a diagnosis of anything but a PVS. Although conservatives love a good conspiracy theory, they want to defend the diagnoses of court experts hired by Schindler attorneys in lieu of even doctors appointed by the court. Her brain was mush. The Schindler experts had credibility problems. And the Schinldlers themselves stooped to new lows the more desperate they became.

I am highly interested in the complete change of the Republican party, which in the 90′s was wholeheartedly Libertarian (decrying the government’s involvement in Ruby Ridge and with Elian Gonzales) and advocating local control of government, and now 180 degrees to totalitarian, complaining that the federal government has no power, as Mr. Zieve did in his opinion piece. The autopsy will show Ms. Schiavo had no higher brain power, make no mistake about it. Whether others have it remains to be seen.

Doing away with Michael Schiavo would defonitely make this whole ugly story much worse. He needs many prayers to help him unharden his heart.

This came out of my 16 year olds mouth… “I hope someone shoots Michael and paralyzes him and then people fight to kill him and put him out his misery.”
Yes, we who prayed for Terri until the end should not feel this way and it’s a shame that we do but aren’t you just livid!

The only “political agenda” being advanced is that of the Euthanasia Cult of Death. As ti “sanctity if marriage”, Michael Schiavo doesn’t believe in it. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have a live-in girlfriend and 2 children by her, while never divorcing Terri.

Respect for marriage, husbands, and family are the victims of the media feeding frenzy. The husband has been cast as the villain. Nobody but him and his attorney called her “Mrs. Schaivo.” I am deeply disappointed that so many zealots use this to promote their political agendas by disregarding the rights of individuals to decide their own health care needs, the sanctity of marriage, and the rights and responsibilty of all husbands.

“The law was not designed to bend in the face of the slightest wind.”

It was, also, not designed to allow “heresay”. But, it did in the Schiavo case, in favor of the one-time husband.

The people you should look out for, is in your mirror. You preach constitutional freedom and right of personal choice until it stomps your moral agenda. This should have been a private matter between Terry Schiavo’s husband and Doctor’s. The law was not designed to bend in the face of the slightest wind. All personal choice in regards to medical life and death were at stake here, and I do not want a bunch of strangers deciding my fate.

Is this the way the leftists plan to cure the disease of Social Security? They’re already condoning and glorifying euthanasia. The disabled and infirmed are first…then the mentally ill…then the aged. Then the rest of us??? The Nazis DID employ similar tactics. By the time they got to the Jews, the people in Germany had been prepared. Then, by our homegrown leftists killing off all of those who have reached the age to collect their SS, they’ll have more $$ left to pilfer. SS will have been saved! But, at what price?

We better take to heart the quote below because now, they may very well be coming for us. The comments below were made about Nazi Germany.

    ====================================
First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out – because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the communists
and I did not speak out – because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out – because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me -
and by then there was no one left to speak out for me.
