The geniuses at Save The Children USA have come out with a report titled: The State of the World’s Mothers 2005. The conclusion of said report: Africa is the worst continent to be a mother or child, and Mali is one of the worst countries.

No shit sherlock. Thanks for the enlightenment.

In other news, you know when the Chomsky trolls run around screaming about global justice and you can never quite figure out what they want nor are they able to explain? Well, with way too much time on my hands, I came across this little doozie: Parecon – Life After Capitalism. It is undoubtedly a hallucenigentic induced screed that attempts to explain the economic goals of the “progressive” left.

Their goal is no different than the Marxist workers utopia, but the author assures us it will work not only in the modern world, but in reality as well. The thesis is simple, the collective decides all matters to insure no leadership position is established. In otherwords, there will be a leader less world. Nothing quiet like a butch of idealists running around like chickens with their heads cut off wondering which direction to run. What should be produced? The collective decides. How many to produce? The collective decides. How to compensate for producing? The collective decides. So on and so forth.

The irony of this of course, is that Chomsky left a workers utopian kibbutz in 1952 because he was not allowed to lead. That however, is neither here nor there. The telling sign that all those musty smelling protestors named “Rainbow” have never held a job is that the collective requires endless meetings. And anyone who has ever had any iota of responsibility knows how big a pain in the ass it is to attend an endless number of meetings. Not to mention all those meetings resulte in nothing getting done. Ah, progress – ain’t it grand?

I know it’s awefully unAmerican of me, but goddamn I wish I could take care of those stupid dolts with cyanide in their grannola.
