A Call for Resignation

2005-06-21

Here is the message I sent my senator Dianne Feinstein:
Dear Senator Feinstein,

This is regarding Senator Durbin’s comments made in the Senate likening our treatment of detainees in Gitmo to Nazis, Gulags and Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge.

The Senator has not apologized, is now a celebrity in the Al Jazeera media, and has aided our enemy with his outlandish remark.

This fact makes him a Traitor. Now, although I don’t advocate the recommended punishment for him (execution), he must give an unequivocal apology to our troops who are putting themselves in harms way to give the Iraqi people the gift of freedom, and then humbly resign his office.

I urge you to call for his apology and resignation. This is a war we are fighting and this is so far outside the realm of dissent that I DO question the Senator’s patriotism, and those of his party that continue to remain silent on this matter.

Sincerely,

Pete Mayer

No, I don’t think she’ll actually do a damn thing about this, except perhaps give the usual lip service: “We really support our troop, I mean really REALLY support them.” All the while rejoicing at the news of more dead American soldiers.
