The SLF Strikes Again!

2005-08-10
By

The Secular Liberal Fascists have struck again this time through the NCAA. The NCAA has announced that no college team could use …and here I’m not sure of the extent of the ban…the names of Native Americans as nicknames. What I am not sure of is whether any ethnic nicknames may be used
Florida State has the approval of the Seminole nation to use their name. In other words even if a tribe gives permission, it is not OK. They have lost jurisdiction over the use of their own name in the name of…what? Equality?
I wonder what would happen if the Seminole nation asked Florida State to use their name. Does this take that right away from them?
The late Christopher Lasch, an excellent cultural historian, commented in his last book, “The Revolt of the Elites”, that behind all these soft-spoken “Let’s improve the world” types, usually from universities, is a strain of anger and aggression which, he said, you find out very quickly when you oppose them.
What I am not sure of (I heard only part of it this morning on the car radio) is whether this new “ruling” applies to “The Fighting Irish” of Notre Dame.
Quite frankly I am sick of these “nice” people who secretly wish, either consciously or unconsciously, to rule the world.
They need to be confronted and told to take their under-handed fascism and to stick it into whatever bodily orifice they care to.

I read that Sports Illustrated ran a poll of Native Americans back in the 90’s that revealed that something like 80% had no problem with terms like “Red Skins” or “Warriors” which begs the question, “who is the NCAA actually listening to?”
