Polish Knight’s post on the latest rant from loser Al Gore got me riled. I got to the part where he said, “Are we still routinely torturing helpless prisoners, and if so, does it feel right that we as American citizens are not outraged by the practice? And does it feel right to have no ongoing discussion of whether or not this abhorrent, medieval behavior is being carried out in the name of the American people?†and had to quit. I’ll read the rest in bits and bops to prevent an overdose of moonbat induced nausea.
Here is an article I found on the outrageous torture that happened during Saddam’s reign of terror. If anyone ever again mentions the so-called torture Americans have committed just send them to this link. I know the argument that we’re not as bad as the most vile is a weak one, but let’s just put things in their proper perspective.
“This is when they brought out his wife, who was five months pregnant. One of the guards said that if he refused to talk he would get 12 guards to rape his wife until she lost the baby. Amer said nothing. So they did. We were forced to watch. Whenever one of us cast down his eyes, they would beat us.”
“Amer’s wife didn’t lose the baby. So the guard took a knife, cut her belly open and took the baby out with his hands. The woman and child died minutes later. Then the guard used the same knife to cut Amer’s throat.” There is a moment of silence. Then Idrissi says: “What we have seen about the recent abuse at Abu Ghraib is a joke to us.”
And it’s a joke to me as well, but I’m not laughing. My late father in law spent 7 years in a Hungarian political prison for “crimes against the State†and this obtuse comparison of torture is a slap in the face to all victims of genuine torture and genocide throughout history. Al Gore and his ilk should be ashamed.
