what really gets my goat, is that they dont want mandatory DNA testing, and yet, they are willing to penalize a man if he cant get one in a timely fashion. of course it takes the moms cooperation to do this, and if she doesnt cooperate he is liable to pay for a period in which she may not be able to tag the real dad. the real dad may not be locatable, and so she gets a big blank spot in support if she lets the innocent man go by letting a test be done… Since there is no punishment for doing this and a monetary punishment for not doing this, you can guess what the outcomes will always be. the mothers will always refuse a test for in the absence of a test, and her cooperation, the dad is who she says it is. whats more is that if this is all found out, she doesnt have to give the money back. So, the bottom line is, that is open season on mens wallets (often through their hearts). no matter what she does, she benifits by doing whats wrong, than by doing whats right.
Its getting very obvious these people dont’ give a damn about children and are all about money, money, money.
Simple. Follow the money. When an accused rapist or murderer is exonerated by DNA testing, it relieves the penal system of an expense. The only one who cares that he’s released is the prosecutor, whose conviction stats go down. But when an accused father (note the criminal analog in how he’s treated by the system) is shown not to have sired the child, it threatens that all-important federal subsidy the court gets for fleecing him.
Can’t have that, now. It might become a trend, and endanger the court’s budget.
People get off of rape and murder ‘convictions’ years after the actual event because of DNA results that have recently become available.
Why not child support????
