Maureen Dowd: “Despite the best efforts of philosophers, politicians, historians, novelists, screenwriters, linguists, therapists, anthropologists and facilitators, men and women are still in a muddle in the boardroom, the bedroom and the Situation Room…”

Roger L. Simon: Fifty-seven percent of the college population is now female. Men are going to have to get used to intelligent women or turn celibate.

The author makes a several important mistakes when he mentions that “Men are going to have to get used to intelligent women or turn celibate.”

First of all, he confuses “educated” with “intelligent”.

Women have been “intelligent” (or not, as the case may be!) for quite a few thousand years now.

Some women are actually QUITE intelligent, and some are dumber than a bag of hammers.

Getting a degree provides insights, extends knowledge, etc. but it does NOT make a woman (or a man) intelligent, imho.

The other point is that men need not turn celibate to avoid unwanted entanglements with intelligent women.

In fact men simply need to avoid MARRYING intelligent women to avoid such unwanted entanglements.

Intelligent women are not usually a problem, per se.

Women who insist on ramming their “intelligence” down one’s throat (usually belittling men’s intelligence in the process) are the actual issue.
