According to The Conservative Voice,Harry Reid has threatened a filibuster over the Alito nomination because Reid “warned” Bush not to nominate Alito and he did anyway. Who in hell does Reid think he is anyway? The Democrats still haven’t figured out that they aren’t in power anymore. Reid needs a kick in the teeth and I think he’s going to get one.
Meanwhile, Lindsey Graham says to forget the filibuster, as it would violate the previously negotiated agreement not to filibuster judicial nominees unless there were extraordinary circumstances. This is going to be interesting, as I expect the Democrats will claim that any nominee who doesn’t support Roe v. Wade constitutes just such an extraordinary circumstance.
