Given the seriousness of the original crime, one must consider that potentially these three young men may have had to serve a total of 21 years in jail for a crime that was NOT comitted.

Who knows what the young woman was thinking when she made her false report? Does it really matter?

The fact of the matter is that had her false accusation of these men resulted in a conviction – and there are activist courts out there where they would have been convicted – this false report amounts to a violent assault on the men in question.

Who is the victim in these cases – the young woman, or the men who were targeted by her false accusation. I have no doubt they spent time in jail, I have no doubt their reputations have already been harmed, no doubt their faces now grace a mug shot web site somewhere and that they are now going to spend the rest of their lives explaining what happened.

As I see it, in these false charge cases, the perpetrator of the false charges should be sentenced to at LEAST half of the potential sentence that would have been levied against the persons they accused of a crime.

Is this a hard sentence? Not nearly as hard as what would have fallen on their victims.

How many people are going to believe she was coerced into recanting her story, and these guys are really guilty? Their lives may already be severely damaged. Fry the little slut – she deserves it. And she needs to be an example for other women who are willing to destroy someone because she’s ashamed of something she did. If you charge a man with rape, you better be telling the truth.

yeah, especially when there are so many false police reports these days. Women should be held accountable for their actions too. They should pay back in full plus interest. as well as pay for the legal bills of the accused too! Justice should be fair.

The women should be jailed as long as if he had been convicted and sentenced.

So, basically, a woman falsely accused three men of felonies for which conviction would have ruined their lives. She gets convicted of a Class C misdemeanor for which she faces a maximum sentence that amounts to a slap on the wrist. And people think she’s the victim?
