Palestinian Authority keeps lying about their population

This is certainly not the first time that a story like this has gotten out, and it probably won’t be the last. But, it’s a very important story, because it shows that the Palestinians are systematically trying to get the world to believe that their population is far greater than it is. And, the Palestinian Authority’s future estimates of the Palestinian population in Israel and the territories is ridiculously overestimated as well.

Hat tip to The Jawa Report. The Palestinian Authority has overestimated its own population by 1.5 million people, which would put its total population a full 62% higher than the actual 2.41 million. To put this in perspective, according to Jawa, this is analagous to the U.S. claiming it had a population of 453 million instead of 280 million.

This report (PowerPoint format) has wide-ranging implications. According to The Officer’s Club, it disproves notions that Arabs outnumber Jews in Israel and the territories, reveals a Jewish majority in East Jerusalem, and cements the dominant Jewish majority by 4-to-1 within the 1967 borders.

This all goes to the PA’s strategy of trying to portray Israel and the territories as an apartheid-like state, with the minority Jews persecuting the majority Palestinians. Too bad it’s all a lie.
