THE TSA MOLESTS AN 83 YR OLD WOMAN FEARING A BOMB IN HER DEPENDS
The Transportation Security Administration has once again proved its incompetence and its lack of common sense in fighting the “War on Terrorism” by keeping our skies safe from Islamic Terrorism by roughing up an 83 yr old lady, according to the woman’s daughter, Sally Moon.
Anyone could see that Bernice “Bea” Bogart, 83, was a fragile woman, Moon said. Bogart had breast cancer surgery in 1997, a total hip replacement after a fall in 1999, a major stroke in 2004 that caused dementia, and is hard of hearing.

Moon said that at about 6 p.m. Saturday, she and her sister were walking alongside their mother, who was in a wheelchair being pushed by a Frontier Airlines employee to a special screening area at the head of DIA’s Concourse A.
Just before reaching security, Moon’s sister, who did not have gate clearance, was asked to sit in a chair away from the screening area while Moon and their mother proceeded.
Bogart was holding an orthopedic card saying that she had a metal plate in her hip.
Having been assured that Frontier and the TSA staff would not require Bogart to leave her wheelchair, Moon turned her back to put her mother’s bags through the X-ray screener.
Moon said she was horrified when she turned around moments later to discover that her mother had been selected for additional screening and was out of her wheelchair and hobbling through a large glass- walled corridor.
“There were no grab bars,” Moon said. “What I could see really was her fingers trying to hang onto a little ledge.”
Fearing another hip-shattering fall, Moon instinctively reached out for her mother.
“Don’t touch her!” Moon says the screener barked.
As the elderly woman shuffled along, Moon said she continued to tell the screener that her mother was not to stand without her four- wheeled walker.
“You’d better change your attitude,” Moon recalls the screener saying. “Or do you want me to make it so you don’t fly today?”
The harrasment by the TSA didn’t end there.
Infuriated, Moon protested and said she was told to sit across the room “or else.”
“I know she prolonged her search because she was mad at me,” Moon said.
Bogart had been nervous about flying alone for the first time since her husband’s death last year. She sat back down in the wheelchair after the screening in shocked silence, her daughter said.
Two hours later, Bogart was in the air, en route to Nashville, Tenn., to visit her youngest daughter for a month. Moon marched back to security to give management a piece of her mind.
She demanded the name of the young screener in her mid-to-late 20s with darkish hair pulled back in a bun.
A TSA manager refused to give her the screener’s name, Moon said, and suggested she file a general complaint.
In the meantime, members of the “Religion of Peices”, blown to peices that is get a free pass so as to not “offend” them and make them feel discriminated against, all while the TSA continues to molest the elderly, handicapped and babies in the interest of keeping the friendly skies friendly!
I guess it’s much simpler to take sewing scissors and little thread cutters away from little old ladies then it is to actually do something useful to prevent another September 11th from occuring.
Having worked for the Department of Homeland In-Security as a Screener with the TSA for 3 yrs, I can honestly tell you that true “Security” in our nations airports is next to non-existent. Airport security is mostly made up of a bunch of “Smoke and Mirrors”. Illusions of security to give the flying public a false sense of feeling safe.
DIA spokesman Chuck Cannon expressed surprise at Bogart’s tale, but said ultimately the airport has no authority to regulate the TSA, which is a federal agency.
“I honestly don’t know why they would have made a woman in that condition get up and walk through secondary screening,” he said. “I’m sure it’s all a misunderstanding, but we hate for those things to happen and we wish they wouldn’t happen.” But as we all know, this boorish behavior by those who abuse the power entrusted to them continues to occur.
While Moon is still angry and cynical that TSA will do anything about her complaint, a Denver TSA spokeswoman said the agency expects a high degree of professionalism from screeners and Moon’s complaint would be investigated. TSA’s Office of Civil Rights will soon issue a response, she said.
Except for the fact that the TSA management has higher expectations for the Screeners then they do for themselves at the top and those that are in Supervisory positions.
All to many times I witnessed Supervisors force Screeners to be abusive toward the passengers.
One particular TSA Supervisor at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan who also happens to be a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, have the Screeners force attractive female passengers to remove their form fitting sweaters so as to provide the leering supervisor with a form of “Free Entertainment” at the expense of the passengers dignity.Â
Most recently, the TSA failed to detect bomb making materials in 21 of our nations airports and even bumbled through when a 50 yr old Egyptian man’s shoes tested positive for explosives back in December of 2005. The man’s shoes closely resembled the very same shoes worn by Shoe Bomber Richar Reid who was covicted of trying to blow up a plane bound for the United States and got his ass kicked by the passengers who did more for Airline Security in that moment then the TSA with all of its fancy gadgets and it billions of taxpayers dollars combined.
So when I hear about an old lady in a wheelchair being molested by the TSA, it doesn’t surprise me. What would completely blow me away is if they were to actually go after the real Terrorists, but to do that would require getting rid of all the incompetent boobs at the top and middle levels, essentially wiping the slate clean.
In an unrelated story pertainging to the Department of Homeland In-Security, it was reported that tons of Canadian Trash is shipped into the United States through the border in Michigan and is never checked for security threats.
A January Homeland Security Department inspector general report found that Customs “does not have an effective method to screen and inspect the 350 truckloads of municipal solid waste that enter the U.S. daily through the Detroit and Port Huron ports of entry.”
I guess thats how we ended up with Democratic Govenor Jennifer Granholm in the Great Lakes State…As Undetected Garbage…But hopefully in November 2006, we can send her packing back to Canada on the same garbage truck she arrived in!
