Quack alert
Sorry, but this sounds like a bunch of bull to me. Show me some randomized, prospective studies showing this treatment is effective and I’ll be a believer. But for now, I’d say if you get any benefit from this it’s a placebo effect.
There’s a new alternative to nicotine patches and weight loss pills in Peoria County. A new business in Edwards claims it can help you lose weight or stop smoking with a laser treatment.[...]
“Instead of using those needles with the invasiveness. You just use a light, it’s a stimulator and it stimulates the natural endorphins in your body,†Laser Solutions President and Registered Nurse Linda Sprague said. “It allows them to have their appetite suppressed, so they are not quite as hungry. So, if they follow their natural instincts, they will stop eating after they are full.”
The technique is also supposed to help people kick the nicotine habit by limiting the cravings that come with the withdrawal stage.
The therapy to quit smoking is around $300 and the weight loss treatment is about $400.
Hmm, I’d say if you want to increase your endorphin levels, go for a 20 minute jog. It’s probably better for you, and a lot less expensive to boot.
