Things aren’t looking so good for Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations, as a recent ABC poll shows just 19% of those polled would definitely vote for Hillary, while 42% say they definitely would not.
A bare 19 percent of those polled by ABC said they would definitely vote for Sen. Hillary Clinton,D-N.Y., while almost half – 42 percent – said there was no way they’d vote for her in a contest for the presidency in 2008.
According to the New York Post, Hillary is a polarizing figure who falls short of attracting the cross-over vote needed to win the White House.
While 38 percent say they would consider backing her, 42 percent say they definitely won’t back her if she runs, the ABC News poll found.
The Post remarked that the poll results mean Clinton could win a majority only by winning over 80 percent of those who are now undecided on her candidacy.

This ABC poll jibes well with the other polls that have recently showed the same thing. While I think it’ll be almost impossible to win if 42% of the population is dead set against you, I still maintain that the Democratic nomination is hers for the taking, and that there’s nothing I can think of that would ever change her mind about running. Like Al Gore, Hillary shares the grandiose delusion that her entire life has been a preparation for ascending to the presidency, and that the position rightfully belongs to her. It should make for a very interesting 2008.
