Within 25 years, Latin America and the Philippines will be the same. Rapine? No, just human nature expressed through imperfect institutions. I know a lot of men aged 50+ long for the America of yesteryear, but wasn't it those same guys who created the world we have today? Then they sit back and condemn the rest of us who have to live in a world they created. Ironic, no? The leftward ratchet of history comes to all countries eventually.
