Howard Dean: Karl Rove Lied About Committing Perjury!

Tuesday, June 13, 2006
By John Lillpop

There must be a full moon or other celestial madness to explain Howard Dean’s appearance on the Today show Tuesday morning.

Dean was responding to what must have been devastating news to the DNC Chairman and liberals all over America: Karl Rove will NOT be indicted!

http://drudgereport.com/flash3ri.htm

While Dean did not remove his tie, go into rant mode, and break-down mentally as he did after the Iowa caucus, Dean came close with this brilliant, paraphrased statement:

‘If Karl Rove had been indicted it would have been for perjury. ………… he doesn’t belong in the White House. ……… So I think this is probably good news for the White House, but its not very good news for America’

So, good Dr., are you alleging that the honorable Karl Rove lied his way out of a perjury indictment? Serious charges, those!

Although Democrats thought it was a minor matter when their adulterous hillbilly from Arkansas—AKA, Bill Clinton—committed perjury, was caught doing so by Ken Starr, was disbarred from practicing law, and was impeached by the US House for perjury.

Mind you, Slick Willy was the chief law enforcement officer of the nation at the time. The president of the United States, for goodness sakes!

Still, Clinton was a liberal Democrat and EVERYONE knew he was a liar before he ran for president.

That excuses Slick Willy, right?

Why, then, did the Supreme Court banish Clinton from arguing before the SCOTUS for several years?

Bottom Line: Say what you will about Karl Rove, at least he was not stupid enough to get caught committing perjury!

I don’t think that anyone questions that Rove was guilty of trying to discredit Joe Wilson by illegally giving classified information to the press about his wife, Valerie Plame and breaking her cover.

Most Americans consider Clinton’s lies about sex with Monica Lewinsky to be minor peccadillos that didn’t deserve impeachment–they saw it as a largely private matter that was certainly dishonorable, but not an act of policy which hurt the American public. On the other hand, most Americans don’t consider the lieing about yellow-cake uranium from Niger to be a serious offense since it was used to justify the invasion of Iraq. Polls show that most Americans think that Bush should be impeached if he deliberately lied about weapons of mass destruction. All of this directly relates to the Rove case, since he was attempting to discredit Joe Wilson’s revelations that he had written reports showing that the documents about uranium from Niger were forgeries. So Wilson was showing that Bush was lieing about evidence of WMDs, and Rove wanted to discredit his story by saying that Wilson only got the assignment because of his wife’s connections.

It looks like Rove is going to get away with illegal leaks, but I personally see Rove’s behavior as much worse than Clinton’s and I suspect that most Americans agree with me. Clinton wasn’t trying to deceive Americans about a matter of public policy when he lied, whereas Rove was. If you want to justify it by saying that at least Rove was smart enough not to get caught, then I question your moral values. Lies about sex are wrong, but it is far worse morally to lie to go to war and then breaking the law to discredit people who proved that you lied.

I do not believe most Americans feels that way.

Again, your president LIED under oath not just about whether or not he had sex with Monica, but to obstruct justice in a case brought by Paula Jones.

You may not like Paula Jones, but she is entitled to very constitutional protection afforded every citizen. Her day in court was obstructured—justice denied—because your president lied under oath.

Any way you try to spin it, the facts are irrefutable: Bill Clinton obstructed justice by committing perjury!

How would you react if it was YOUR daughter who had been so treated? By the chief law enforcement agent in the land?

BTW, the prosecuter does not agree with you, either. Or he would have nailed Rove.

    Will Malven Says:

    amosbatta,

most people KNOW that Karl Rove was not guilty of “trying to discredit Joe Wilson by illegally giving classified information to the press about his wife.”

He did not even know her name. The fact that she worked for the CIA was known to virtually everyone inside the Beltway. She drove her personal vehicle into the CIA complex everyday.

She was no more covert than Joe Wilson was.

Wilson is the original source of the leak, not Rove, not Libby, not Armitage, but Joe Wilson. Try doing some research and you will discover that.

Whoops I forgot I was talking to a Liberal…myth=reality, opinion=fact. Nevermind just go back to your tin-hat brigade.

Remember this is a “moral victory” for the democrats. And tomorrows NYT headline is:
“Rove decision signals division for republicans, party now divided.”

You guys are all missing the point. It’s not *really* perjury if it’s a Demoncrat doing it. You all ought to know they’re so much better than all the common rabble and far above such petty things.

    /sarcasm off
