This is beginning to sound like a funding campaign and an opportunity to plug a book by his daughter.

    The “Origin” of the universe.
    The “Origin” of the species.

hhmmm We are so close, we just need more funding to finish the job. We need huge particle accelerators, and lots of computers, and well if you want the answers, you know, these things cost money and take some time.

If they do not know the answers, then how can they declare how close they are to finding them?

“The Origin” was published in 1859, and “Special Relativity” in 1905.

Everyone is asserting that we are so close …

If we were that close, would we not already have intelligent autonomous systems aplenty?

    “…
The age of the universe and its vast number of stars seem to suggest that extraterrestrial life should be common. Considering this with colleagues over lunch in 1950, the physicist Enrico Fermi is said to have asked: “Where are they?” [1] If a multitude of advanced extraterrestrial civilizations exist in the Milky Way galaxy then why has evidence, such as probes, spacecraft or radio transmissions not been found? The simple question “Where are they?” (alternatively, “Where is everybody?”) is possibly apocryphal but Fermi is widely credited with simplifying and clarifying the problem of the probability of extraterrestrial life.

I am asking a similar question.
Hey people it has been over 100 years, and billions of dollars in research funding, so where are the answers?
Hey folks can we at least get an ETA?
I’m not fussy, I’ll take one origin or the other.
Oh and while your at it, can just give us a few words on how you know you will find the answers?

you know I gotta get back to my brain on this.

Like I don’t care for my own gratification, it’s just that people are buying into you guys, and God is being chased out of everyone’s’ lives.
So before we end up buried in techno-paganism and techno-cannibalism …

You want conundrum? In good faith, I consider myself “Catholic”. On the other hand, I can truthfully say that Stephen Hawking makes more sense to me than any contemporary religious leader up to and including the Pope. (I also suspect Stephen Hawking knows considerably more about the Mind of God than any past or present Pope.)

    :) Faith?
Be at peace and secure your bandwidth.
The truth has a very nasty habit of surprise.
As simple a truth as switching the postion of the earth and the sun.
These things can take a little more time than anticipated.
    One needs to be sure.
