Back in Black

Didja miss me? I have now completed the move to Kentucky from So-Cal. I’m [re] married and have a new job. I sold my overpriced house in Corona, CA for a reasonably priced home in Kentucky and pocketed the cash. I still work in the Underground Aerospace Mines that are typical of the industry, but at least I have a cube with a view. And a retirement plan that makes it most assured that I will die a rich man.

Much has passed since I’ve blogged last, but rest assured that I’ve paid some attention to the political climate. It seems the polarization has grown to the extreme; never before has the Left shifted to the socialist agenda without shame as now, and the Right to, well… let’s just say a more centrist agenda. Will we ever get an immigration policy that most Americans can agree upon? Will we ever get the left off our backs about Guantánamo? Will we ever get the New York Times to drink a cup of “Shut the f*ck Up?”

Only time will tell. Many more questions need to be answered.

Like, how did Pete marry Southwest Gal? And why did I buy another Jeep Wrangler… this time a Rubicon the same color as my old ‘91 that I sold when I moved out here—White with Black top. I’ll answer that last one: If it gets scratched you can hose it down with Krylon® and nobody’s the wiser. My last one got me out of many a trouble, and this one is like a pillow-barge on the inside compared to my ’91.

Southwest Gal? We got married in Vegas, Baby! California had too many rules Man! I guess I’m basically a social liberal, or libertarian, or whatever it takes to avoid a bunch of bureaucratic red tape.

On the down side, my mum died this last April. Good Friday to be exact. She had two strokes that put her into intensive care at one point. Once she stabilized we brought her back to her home and Hospice began the end-of –life procedures. We had many discussions regarding this before, what with Terry Shaivo and all, and this is the way she would have wanted it.

That’s all for now. Work, the new house and life here in Kentucky takes up a lot of time so no promises as to how much blog I can spew, but I’m keepin’ an eye on all things political. We are living in exciting times and I want to be a part of it.

Thanks for keeping the lights on.

Sorry to hear about your mother. Sounds like you did the right thing by cashing out of Cali. I had a friend do the same. He moved back to Chicago and bought a house for about 1/3 of his old place.
