Remember “Baghdad Bob”? He was Saddam Hussein’s PR man who kept saying that the Coalition Forces would never enter Baghda even as American tanks were rolling across the bridge to capture. (The rumor that he is now an analyst for BBC may not be unfounded.)
I thought of BB just now as I was reading the latest statement of Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, the Hesbollah leader, saying that he would launch a rocket attack on Tel Aviv if the Israelis attacked Baghdad. He also called the latest commando operation “a failure” which is why he now feels the need to issue anew threat.
From Nasser to the present, there is a tradition of grandiose rhetoric in Islam that runs through Khadafi, Anwar Sadat and Saddam Hussein. (Remember how he used to stand on the balcony shooting his rifle into the air?)
The Preident of Iraq is using the same gambit even though he and his government are sitting on a powder keg of under 30 year olds who do not see the world the same way he or his cohorts do.
We should keep these facts in mind because there is an unholy alliance between the mainstream media and Islamicfascism.
The relentless reporting of nothing but casualties in Iraq and the condoning of Hezbollah terror and hiding behind women and children are not an accurate picture of what is going on in the Middle East.
Since the media war is as important the war on the ground, we should remember that some not-so-nice people are not speaking the truth.
A word to the wise….
