Sorry, I should have included a link to some of the photos I'm talking about:

http://physics911.ca/gallery2/v/WTC2/collapse/

Look especially at the photo labeled, "wtc2_mill1", and notice how far the tower tilted before going down.

Demolitions start at the bottom and the whole thing comes down at once (well, some start in one point and radiate out from there, but I mean that the top doesn't start coming down before the lower floors, because of the possibility that the lower floors will deflect the top portion to somewhere that they don't want it).

"I don’t remember actually saying Clinton was involved in 9/11, only that I wonder who was behind it. "

Ok, I took that to be an implication that the supposed explosives were planted LONG before 9/11 occurred, sorry about that.

"The buildings fell at free-fall speed..."

If you look at stills from the collapse, it shows the debris that was blown out at the beginning of the collapse to be below the collapsing section of the building. This is an indication that it did NOT come down at Free-Fall speed. If it did, they would have been beside each other.

"First, I don’t care how hot that steel got, the second building fell withing the hour. Less than an hour. "

Ask a firefighter how long an hour is. Also, the WTC did not HAVE a "giant steel skeleton"; that is what I meant when I talked about the method of the construction. As I said above, "The steel portion of the building was just not thick enough to keep from deforming...". It was also not enough of a heat sink to take away enough heat to keep from deforming the metal and destroying the structural integrity.

Again, a lot of people just don't understand what the implications of that much mass are to the effects of deformations that we would barely think worthy of passing mention. However, you can get a sense of the type of collapse I mention from losing structural strength by standing on a pop can. If you're careful, it will hold you indefinitely. However, if someone taps the side of the can, it will collapse instantly, because the structural integrity will be gone. This is what caused the collapse of the towers. And it took less time for the south tower because the impact was lower - it had that many more tons above the impact point pressing down.

Hey!...nice to be back!

To wblackburn...I have only recently in the last few days come to the conclusion that the buildings were detonated. For the last five years, I watched all the specials on TV...the countless engineers, architects, etc...the drawings showing the weakness in the elevators..etc...but there was always a bug in my eye. And put in perspective with the other events of the day...I still tend to lean toward what it was I saw. So, in trying to answer this, I decided to write more on it...I'm sure lots of us are confused..

As to globalization...of course we can't stop that, BUT that doesn't mean that our companies should have the right to arm countries that want to see us eliminated.

Of course, Ford motor company sold tanks and trucks to Hilter...it seems making money has come before patriotism many, many times before.

You may be right...I'm not engineer. But I ran into an article by Paul Craig Roberts.

First, I don't care how hot that steel got, the second building fell withing the hour. Less than an hour. The buildings fell at free-fall speed, a fact that is inconsistent with the government's "pancaking" theory in which debris from above collapsed the floors below. Anyway...accordingly to his aritlce "experts point out that the buildings giant steel skeletons comprised a massive heat sink that wicked away the heat from the limited short-lived fires, thus preventing a heat buildup.

I don't remember actually saying Clinton was involved in 9/11, only that I wonder who was behind it.

And hey, Polish Knight...sounds like you know all the right moves in Las Vegas! And yes, we did make it to Freemont area, where you actually heard people win money!

Hello Joyanna!

First, I want to say it's nice to see you. I wanted to email you and tell you to hang in there after a particularly heated debate on one of your articles. Most of the people I've debated against turn out to be quite pleasant in person.

Anyways, a few observations:

Vegas: My mother likes to gamble and my wife and I also like Vegas. We might do a half day of gambling not because we think that car up on the podium is ours, but rather for fun with $100 or even $200 budgeted for "entertainment". At the same time, we get free drinks, cheap buffets and comps such as cheaper rooms and show tickets at times. Gambling profit margins are not as high as during the times of the mob. I've played the slots and found them hopelessly boring but some people think they're fun. My wife enjoys the poker machines while I like to play the real thing.

Pity I didn't know you were going. I could have told you of some of the fun, cheap things to do. But you're right: The fru fru shops with $2,000 bags are mostly worthless for the middle class. But you have to go to old town or out of the strip a little for the bargains. Did you try Fremont?

About selling to the Chinese: We live in a global economy and it's becoming increasingly difficult to lock out countries from buying things or just assembling themselves. For example: High resolutino imaging satellites that were prohibited from export in the states could be easily acquired in many other countries in Western Europe. So these regulations just hamstringed American manufacturers from exporting technologies that were on sale in other free markets.

Ok, I normally like reading your commentary, and even most of this one, but you really need to talk to someone who knows some engineering before spinning the theory that someone in the Clinton Administration planted bombs in the WTC.

I didn't think the towers would come down that day, either, but after hearing about how the method of construction was different from other buildings in order to be able to get towers that high at the time, it makes sense that they collapsed from the heat. The steel portion of the building was just not thick enough to keep from deforming, which led to structural failure of the support structure.

People who like to claim that it was a controlled demolition and could not be anything else, just don't understand how enormous masses change the way materials appear to work in real structures. Due to the incredible masses involved, there was literally no other way for the collapse to look, no matter the cause of it. It was just not possible for the tops of the towers to "topple over", which appears to be what some people expected to happen if it was not demolition. If you watch the video closely, you can see that the top floors BEGAN to tilt, but then the strain on the other side broke it, too, and the whole thing came down.
