Anthropologist Karla Poewe says, “National Socialism was a national revolutionary movement determined to rid Germany of Jewish Christianity.” But historian Richard Steigmann-Gall suggests that by embracing ideologies such as anti-Semitism, “the Nazis represented a departure from previous Christian practices. However, this did not make them un-Christian.”
