[...] It could have been worse for Jon’s girl. Men’s News Daily brings us the tragic story of Shaun’s girlfriend, The Girl Who Didn’t Resist Feminism’s Siren Song and Therefore Lost a Boyfriend. I began to see just how serious the matter really was when I began dating a Knox student in my Junior year. She was a freshman and really was a nice girl; I counted myself very fortunate to have met her. That she had some feminist tendencies did not bother me, because she was a moderate compared to everyone else in her suite. [...]

Thanks for sharing your experience Shaun Williams with Usher and us. Welcome to the club.

If you want another homework assignment that may also save you trouble, then visit any county's divorce court, Monday through Wednesday, 9 to 11AM. It's free and you do not need an invitation.

Sit in the first row so that you may better listen to the hearings.

While market forces might favor the colleges, particularly the small "liberal arts" kind that do not have this left wing feminazi political correctness going on, the problem is that there are plenty of liberal parents who do not mind paying for this.
As much as we would like to favor allowing people to get what they pay for and what they want, the graduates of these LIBERAL arts colleges move on to management positions in corporations, including mainstream media, and government agencies. The worst part are the ones who go into politics and law.
Whether the lawyers actually believe the feminazi crap or react like Shaun Williams, too many readily find out how PROFITABLE the gender bias in family law is. Most of our judges either profited personally from this or they do not wish to be a threat to those who do.
So this is a very serious problem indeed.

In addition to Mr. Usher's excellent academic consumer's advice above, you can do a little Googling about your kids' possible college and university destinations by going to the school's main web site and finding the main list of "Student Organizations."

What you will typically discover is a very deep pull-down menu of "multi-cultural diversity" options listing dozens of groups and associations defined by gender, nationality, and ethnicity.

Try searching on "men's studies" if you're in a mood for comedy. (You will typically get a directory of dozens of woMEN'S programs...)

If you should by happenstance stumble across a men's program, check closely to confirm that it will be housed within the Gender Studies Department.

That's code for feminist scholarly castration of any actual men's studies threats.

BTW David, I'm not a Knox alum. They accepted me and I turned them down to go the Big Ten private university route.

Knox was indeed my "safety school," as it was my daughter's. She's a freshman this year at a university that accepts 17% of its applicants.

Her choice of academic destinations will not in any way spare her the obligatory indoctrinations of feminism.

But, thanks in part to your writings, she has been innoculated to a degree against the braindeadness of feminist "scholarship."

Knox is just one of many colleges that do this. Consumers of education should do their homework before sending their children to a college, and alumns who detect thsese sorts of activities should redirect their donations to organizations working to better the educational system.

Here are some litmus criteria:
1. When you visit the campus, do you see indication of political or student activity other than gay/lesbian/feminist?

2. Does the library have a copy of Warren Farrell's book "Myth of Male Power", or Sanford Braver's book "Divorced Dad's: Shattering the Myths"? Does the library have a lot of gay male books mis-categorized in the "Men's Studies" category?

3. Does the college have a legitimate men's studies program that operates entirely independently of the women's studies program and independently of the psychology department, and is not a gay men's operation masquerading as a legitimate men's group?

4. Ask the President about these things directly. If he responds negatively or attempts to change the subject, its time to look elsewhere.

dadswithgirls: please contact me privately. I ould like to see what year you graduated Knox, etc.

Both of my parents are Knox alums, and gave thousands of dollars to the college over the years - until I brought David R. Usher's earlier pieces about Knox and its radical feminism take-over to their attention.

Suffice it to say, all donations to the Knox College Foundation have ceased.

While the feminist coup de 'etat at Knox and the college's precipitous drop in national college rankings may not be entirely cause-and-effect, I believe I read recently that Knox, once rated the 4th best small private liberal arts college in the U.S. -- was lately ranked No. 77.

That kind of publicity really cripples an expensive, selective-admissions college over time, because the best and brightest studentrs will not bother to apply to Knox except as one of their "safety schools."

Maybe Kim Gandy could give Knox a handout --
the mangina administration in Galesburg could be easily persuaded to rename the college K-N.O.W.
