Men poised to organize “rapid reaction force” for political gains

A new Web site called Pheeder has been launched, extending the world of Blogs and online discussion to the realm of the cell phone. This is an excellent way for the Men’s Rights and Father’s Rights movements to organize politically. It can create a political “rapid reaction force” that can allow interested participants the ability to be instantly notified of an urgent need, and provide them the ability to respond with effective and appropriate action. It also provides a “back-and-forth” ability to respond to a call-to-action with ideas (or even refutation).

Here’s how it works (also, watch a video about it on Forbes.com):

  1. Someone signs up for a free account at http://www.pheeder.com
  2. They post a “voice blog” into their public account. This means they speak into their phone with their urgent action alert, or their opinion about something, or whatever information they want to disseminate.
  3. Others can sign up as subscribers to this voice blog, and will be notified via text message on their cell phone whenever there is a new audio message. Once they’ve received the text message, they can dial in to a phone number to hear the message through their cell phone.
  4. People who subscribe to the voice blogs of others can also have their own voice blogs. In this way, they can carry the message to others (or provide feedback to the group that issued the original call-to-action, provided that they mutually subscribe to each other’s voice blogs).

The possibilities are tremendous. Imagine the ways in which a political “Rapid Reaction Force” for the Men’s Movement and Fathers Rights Movement could be realized:

A voice blog could appeal to subscribers to do any one of the following:

  • Write a letter to the editor
  • Contact key legislators about legislation about to be voted on
  • Call in to a live talk radio show and join the discussion
  • Participate in a local demonstration or protest that will occur soon
  • React to breaking news stories to shape public opinion before it can be shaped by our opponents
  • Donate money to political candidates or ballot measures in need of financial support

And the list can go on and on. If ever there was a tool to easily disseminate audio-based information to people who only need a cell phone to participate, this is it. No longer does a “call-to-action” have to wait until someone checks their e-mail, or their fax machine. By utilizing the power of wireless communications (via text-message), Pheeder allows you the ability to learn of an action alert wherever you are. Pheeder is being billed as a business and social collaboration service. But I believe it has the capacity to unite disparate elements of a social movement (like ours) into a cohesive, FOCUSED political force.

The next step is for groups friendly to our cause that are already politically organized to sign up, and then publish the means for others to subscribe. How much easier could this be?

Visit Pheeder.com today and sign up for your own account, so you can be ready. It’s free, and you can even begin to disseminate your opinions, and calls-to action, without having to wait for others to pick up the ball.
