If the Republican Party is wondering why it’s having a difficult time firing up its base — conservatives and Christians — perhaps they should take a look at a story circulating on the internet by bloggers on both sides of the political spectrum.

According to the BlueNC, a Democrat blog, Mike Krempasky, one of the founders of the conservative Repubilican blog called Redstate.com, endorsed Democrat Brad Miller for Congress. http://www.bluenc.com/node/4009

Miller is pro-gay rights, pro-abortion, and a supporter of other radical-left causes.

Speaking extemporaneously as part of a morning discussion at ConvergeSouth, Krempasky anounced his endorsement of Miller. BlueNC posted this comment made by Krempasky:

“One thing that I’ve certainly never done is endorse a Democrat. Ever. I am actually quite willing to say this when it comes to politics that we should (a little fuzzy) all just step back a little bit. If there’s an uglier time in Washington than right now, I don’t know. But Brad Miller ought to be re-elected.”
Blue NC also posted:

“This is the exact quote, courtesy of the Southern Dem who recorded and transcribed it. There was NO question whatsover among the applauding audience that Mr. Redstate was repudiating Vernon Robinson.

Looks like a good time to give it up, Vermin. The King of Reactionary is pulling for your Democratic opponent. Take the hint.”

This writer examined the Redstate.com website and found no mention of any endorsements by any of the blog’s principles. However, Redstate did not respond to an e-mail requesting confirmation or denial of the endorsement.

If Redstate finds Robinson too repulsive to endorse or support, then it should just remain silent and not endorse a Democrat who opposes conservative values.
