Liberal Democatic Congressman Murtha Is A Coward!

(MONONGAHELA, October 18) — Washington County Commissioner and Pennsylvania 12th district Republican Congressional nominee Diana Irey — responding to Jack Murtha’s refusal to meet with her to debate the issues, despite newspaper editorials urging him to debate, a League of Women Voters offer to host and sponsor a debate, and local television stations’ offer to air the debate — today released this statement:
“Monday we began our 21-part series, ‘Why doesn’t Jack want to debate?’ wherein I suggest 21 reasons Jack Murtha might be refusing to debate me in public.
“Today I offer reason number 19 Jack Murtha doesn’t want to debate me: because HE DOESN’T WANT ANYONE TO KNOW HE TRIED TO TAKE A $50,000 BRIBE FROM AN UNDERCOVER AGENT FOR THE FBI.
“Check it out for yourself — go watch the FBI ABSCAM surveillance video of Jack Murtha asking the undercover FBI agent ‘is that okay, Tony?’ when his middleman, Howard Criden, informs the FBI agent that ‘John says that it is okay for you to give me what’s in that drawer’ — a clear reference to the $50,000 cash bribe sitting in the FBI agent’s desk drawer.
