You must have been in the west way too long. You are thinking like a hippy, and an irrational optimist. Your Arab League condemned Sadaam year after year, about his genocides. They refused to move a muscle to stop him, using brains not brawn. You leave people in a permanent state of hopelessness. They lived under an oppressive religion and an oppressive tyrant. The reality is 1- before we came they were hopeless, 2 – while we are there they have a little hope, 3 – if we leave they are hopeless. For you Arabs it has never been more than your daily entertainment, then and now. You seem to enjoy watching terrorism and genocide, like blood sport. No diplomacy will resolve it. The only answer to bring hope to the people of Iraq is to respect them by giving the oppressive powers the dignity to fight to the death for what they believe, until they have been defeated, some will leave, and others get tired of fighting, and a new balance of power will be instituted, and they will be allowed to vote for leaders who are not as oppressive. And if you think these Democrat hippies are really all about brains not brawn, negotiating and finding peaceful solutions about everything, try reading a Bible in one of their public schools and watch how fast you land in jail.

Neal AbuNab, you overlooks the fact that it is not Iraq that is broken but Muslim religion as practiced in a Middle Eastern culture.

You rightly point out that the dispute between the Sunni and the Shi'a that is the underlying
cause. Iraq just hapens to be a natutral collection of geographically connected regions that happens to lie along the boundary between traditionally Sunni and Shi'a culture.

The problem that needs to be solved is for Sunnis and Shi'a must learn to live along side
with each other. If they do not - it is only a matter of time before some Middle Eastern country lashes out against the West and precipiates a third world war.

So you are right in saying that it Arabs and
Persians and the Kurds (amongst others) who must
sit down together and learn to live together.
If they fail to do this Iraq, then they won't just precipitate a civil war in Iraq [something the Democrates and their leftist idiots would love to see] but it will lead to a far greater war which devastate the Middle East. It will take Many of the Middle Eastern Countries generation to recover if they think that destroying Iraq will solve their problems.

I feel sorry for teh Arab people. They are on the edge of an abyss and the blind are telling them that if the destroy the Iraqi state they will avoid falling over the edge.

No, my friend. Hope always wins and stays alive. what you fail to see is that hopelessness has the best champion in GWB. Iraq is hopelessly broken because 4 million Sunni Muslims have been told to go to other countries and they are not welcome in Iraq. This is the source of insecurity and it needs diplomacy to resolve it. Brain and not brawn will bring peace and stability. Three years of "shoot first and ask questions later" have led to this mess. Can we take a moment to ask some questions before we keep on shooting?

All it says is that our enemies been have been successful in paying an pressuring the Democrats to take their side in this war. That is no big surprise. Everyone knows what cheap tricks they are. Wow, I bet John Kerry costs a lot more now than it did during Vietnam. But I guess you guys have all that oil money. They are a bunch of hippies who think if everyone just sits around in a circle and smokes a joint we will all figure out how to get along. We can always expect them to be there at our side, until the battle heats up, then they become pee in their pants cowards. They have nothing left in their life that is important, like God or country, for which they are willing to kill or die. They don't understand us or the enemies we face. Like in Vietnam, by the end of the war they will have everyone spitting on our own troops. They will be defending the enemy, and blaming the US for everything that happened. Thank God we still have a few adults like GWB trying to run this country, who want to offer hope, to people who have lived so long in hopelessness. I take it you are hoping that hopelessness wins.
