“Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”[John F. Kerry 10/30/2006]
It is a talent that seems to lie uniquely within the province of Democrats; denying what they have said means what it means. For Bill Clinton it was two words, “is” and “sex,” as in “I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinski.” For John Kerry-Heinz it is the above statement.
The meaning of what he said is crystal clear; you only go into military service if you’re a failure in school. Kerry’s disdain for the military is nothing new; his voting record on support for the military is abysmal. His contempt for his “fellow” soldiers as exhibited in his testimony before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in which he accused his “brother soldiers” of the most heinous crimes against humanity one can imagine.
Yes this same John Kerry-Heinz, for all of his self-acclaim as a Vietnam War Hero and thrice Purple Heart recipient, made the following testimony before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on April 22, 1971:
“…not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command…at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, tape wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan…”
Yet today in the process of defending his indefensible remarks:
“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they’re crazy,”
It seems that Monsieur Kerry-Heinz lacks the backbone to fess up to his own words. In today’s statement Lurch Kerry-Heinz claims that he was implying that it is President Bush who didn’t “study,” wasn’t “smart,” and was “intellectually lazy,” yet he also believes that President Bush can read his mind.
Now that’s a hoot! Kerry-Heinz refused to apologize saying his remark was a “botched joke” aimed at President Bush and not our troops and that this “dumb” President, whose academic record is superior to Kerry’s across the board, is supposed to know that. Hey, Gigolo John, how is a President that is “intellectually lazy” and not smart supposed to know that you can’t even read what’s in front of you.
You claim that you intended to say “just ask President Bush” at the end of your “joke,” but “botched it.” I don’t know about Massachusetts, but around here we would call that a “Freudian slip.”
Now, I have analyzed your statements, and I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and concede that what you intended to say was very different from what you said. Problem is that you said exactly what has been quoted, and the onus to apologize lies with you. If someone misinterprets what you say that’s their fault, but if you misspeak, it’s your fault. You can’t lay the blame for your error on someone else. Not even the all powerful master of evil and magic, Karl Rove, can make you say the wrong thing. That’s all yours.
So the fact remains you screwed up and you don’t even have the integrity to admit to your own culpability. In the New York Times today you say:
“I’m sick and tired of a bunch of despicable Republicans who will not debate real policy, who won’t take responsibility for their own mistakes, standing up and trying to make other people the butt of those mistakes.”
I hate to break the news to you, but that is precisely what you are doing John-boy.
Seems Mr. Kerry-Heinz has a small memory problem. He can’t remember what he has said in the past, up to and including that which he said today. Is this the sort of person we want as our next President, a man (and I use the term loosely) who won’t even take responsibility for his own words, Kerry the liar, Kerry the waffler, Kerry the soldier-hater, Kerry the cut and run Democrat?
All it would have taken from Senator Kerry was a simple statement like:
“I’m sorry that I said what I said, I respect and admire our troops over in Iraq and I misspoke. I was supposed to say “blah, blah, blah, but I screwed up and as a result I hurt a lot of people I didn’t intend to hurt.”
That would have been the end of the whole affair. But, you’ll hear those words form Kerry when Hell freezes over. What we will eventually get is another of those Democrat pseudo-apologies like those from Dick Durbin and Cynthia McKinney in which they blame others for misinterpreting what they said. That’s what Democrat politicians do, blame others for their mistakes.
Hey John, it is the Democrats who won’t debate policy. It is the Democrats who are running a campaign of pure scandal mongering, race baiting and slandering, not the Republicans. Tell us your plan for Iraq. Tell us how you are going to raise taxes. Tell us how you are going to spend billions of dollars on college education for those who don’t deserve to go to college (sorry folks, but there are a lot of people out there who would do better going to a trade school or a tech school rather than costing the American taxpayer the expense of college to get a degree in something absurdly useless as journalism or poly-sci). Tell us how you are going to turn the world’s greatest medical system into another socialized disaster.
In short Mr. Kerry-Heinz tell us anything factual rather than the lies and emotional outbursts to which we have become so accustomed to from the Democrat Party.

I already said it a few posts ago, but I have to say it again. Kerry’s remarks are DISGUSTING and as a retired military member I find them unforgiveable.
We have all seen the video. He thought exactly what he said. His only mistake was truely expressing his actual beliefs to the public.
Though I am pretty upset with the Republican party for not acting like Republicans, the other option is giving pigs like Kerry, Reid, Pelosi, and Murtha more power. That would be a major mistake. Vote straight Republican and get everyone around you to do the same.

A Big THANK YOU to John, “I was in Vietnam for 3 months before I wounded myself to get a medal so I could start my political career” Kerry. Perhaps if he had studied hard, did his homework, and made an effort to be smart, he could have gotten his point across to a bunch of teenagers without torpedoing his entire party! Too bad and Ha Ha, you idiot. And I don’t think his excuse is going to get him any sympathy either. ” Oh, I was only trying to insult the President of the United States”. Brilliant!
