As more and more people wisely avoid the inevitable shakedown of family law by avoiding marriage, those who profit from destroying others lives need a way to protect their huge income and profits. Thus, while thwarting reforms of existing corruption, they seek to expand into new untapped markets.

It is pathetic that The Guardian is such a willing co-conspirator with this special interest group propaganda, especially when it comes at the expense of so many children. The article is riddled with spin, such as calling two people who live together a "family".

What they'll do is force people to stop living together, lest they risk losing everything to lawyers, judges, and "social workers", then when folks wise up to that they'll come up with other qualifications that grant "new rights" to keep their business of destroying innocent peoples lives afloat.

Thin edges of wedges have a habit of being driven deeper and deeper. Look ten years ahead. 6 year old Jane gets 50% of 7 year old John's toy cupboard contents becuase she says John was her boyfriend for a whole week. I doubt if John will demand half her Barbie collection.

Opening the courts up to media may help fathers in UK.

Bob Geldof, a father's rights activist and former rock singer, said that fathers are called "McDads", because, unlike fathers in the States whos government gives them a standard visitation of four days a month (every other weekend), in the UK dad's standard visitation with their kids is only a few hours on Sunday - enough time to drive to a public park or McDonald's.
