Hanging Saddam Hussein “Cruel and Unusual”?

Sunday, November 5, 2006
By John Lillpop

Thanks to liberating coalition forces in Iraq and the courageous leadership of President Bush, a brutal killer has been brought to justice and will pay the ultimate price.

In a historic first in the Middle East, Saddam Hussein, the “butcher of Baghdad,” has been sentenced to death for crimes against humanity.  In short, Saddam has been “Bushwhacked” and the earth’s people will be the beneficiary once his death sentence has been fulfilled, and this evil being has been permanently put out of business.

Because of the historical significance of this event, President Bush deserves to be honored for acting on behalf of oppressed people throughout the world and for bringing justice to a region where the very concept has been unthinkable until now.

How about a Nobel Peace prize nomination for America’s beleaguered leader?

Of course, some will disagree.

American liberals, for example, will demand compassion when it comes to sparing the life of Hussein.  Mind you, these are the same folks who defend the murder of 47 million unborn babies since 1973 because of a non-existent “privacy” provision in the U.S. Constitution.

Even now, liberals like Ramsey Clark are probably working to craft an appeal to save Saddam’s life. Forget the fact that Saddam gassed his own citizens, sent people still living to their deaths by being fed into mulching machines, and used mass graves as a way to advertise his zero tolerance for resistance.

In the warped mindset of a liberal, hanging such a monster would be “cruel and unusual.”

Amazingly enough, America appears to be on the brink of electing people with such distorted values to  majority status in one, or both, chambers of the U.S. Congress.

May God open the eyes of the voting public in time to save this great nation!

I have no problem with Saddam’s imminent demise.

Though it could have been achieved a decade ago when he was our man on the CIA’s payroll, at far less cost than the 2-trillion dollars that the Iraq war debacle is now projected to suck out of our economy. (Nobody at Halliburton is wailing about deficit spending….)

If you can’t cap your own shill, why even have a so-called “intelligence” service?

A decade ago. That would have been 1996 when our president was–engaged in that little room off the Oval Office with an intern. Pity he was too busy to worry about Saddam–except to fire a round of missiles now and then in order to change the news headlines for a few days.

Still, he was the “smartest” president in memory. Right?

Bashing Clinton is still the right-wingnuts’ favorite pastime, right? So irrelevant.

Why not turn your attention to the current unDecider-in-Chief who has no war stategy, but wants to “stay the course…” errrr… “not leave until we’re victorious…” whatever that means in dry-drunk denial language?

Rummy was the DOD’s bagman delivering cash to Saddam back in the days of Mideast diplomacy, when the U.S. funded Iraq’s decade-long war against Iran.

Now, we have more or less created a lose-lose scenario for American influence in the Middle East that will last long after Saddam becomes another martyr in the jihad. (Funny that. Since he was a secular despot…)

The most immediate consequences of hanging Saddam will be to watch U.S. soldiers being airlifted off the hotel rooftops in the Green Zone.

    “Deja vu” a la Saigon?

No, that would be impolite to suggest.

DWG, apparently you were hiding behind the door, picking your nose during history class.

Anyone who knows anything about Saddam Hussein’s rise to power and rule of Iraq knows that he did not need the CIA to do either.

Whether you’re naturally stupid or simply have a knee-jerk reaction concerning third world dictators only means of existence through the CIA, you are quite incorrect, once again.

LOL….. another myth, my Middle-Eastern dunce.

To finance his war against Iran, Saddam Hussein borrowed heavily from other Middle Eastern nations, including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

As the matter of fact, Saddam’s debt to the latter nation was part of the reason for his invasion of Kuwait, setting off the first Gulf War.

Get your facts straight, international genius.

Your masturbatory metaphors are indeed disturbing. Though I appreciate their political import, especially in light of all the evangelical leaders in The Shrub’s base of rightwingnut support who have been outted recently.

How many more closet gay chickenhawk neo-cons can America tolerate?

Sadly, your commenatry does not include anything like a sensible analysis of the U.S.’ historical involvement covertly with Saddam.

Ever enjoyed a cartoon by Pogo?

Focus, physiological genius: I mentioned your idiotic attempts to include an analogy to Vietnam as possibly being one of your “wet dreams”.

Who told you that “wet dreams” have anything to do with “masturbation”?…;-)

“Though I appreciate their political import, especially in light of all the evangelical leaders in The Shrub’s base of rightwingnut support who have been outted recently.”

And those opinions have exactly WHAT to do with Saddam Hussein, international genius?…;-)

“How many more closet gay chickenhawk neo-cons can America tolerate?”

With your pitiful grasp of history, you probably don’t need to concern yourself about anyone else’s shortcomings, international genius.

Coming from a critter who believes that Saddam “was our man on the CIA’s payroll” that’s rather amusing to read.

Do you have the vaguest clue about what ACTUALLY consitutes “a sensible analyis” regarding Saddam Hussein?

Your diatribes are rather bereft of actual data.

Everybody, DadWithGirls is a Liberal. You can show them fact after fact and expose their errors time after time. Liberals are oblivious to facts and are oblivious to all of the elections where the majority of voters have rejected them time after time.

You would think they had all served in the military or something because they never get the point. :-)

Can’t wait to watch them squirm November 8th. Everybody go and vote. Not only against the Dems, but against what the terrorists want.

No, actually, I’m far more dangerous than that dismissive term with which you label me.

I actually would like to understand how you think….

But, alas, so far, I’ve seen very little evidence of actual cognition.

    I’m sure I’ve overlooked something critically important….

I’m not a flaming liberal, but I am fairly open-minded about most issues. It just kills me when I see right-wingnuts (extremists) bashing anyone who dares to disagree with their point of view. I’m voting ticket-Dem this election, not because I’m a fanatical left-wingnut, but because the Reps have done such a poor job attending to business. Their ideology keeps getting in the way of common sense and decency. There’s a lot I agree with in the Rep platform, but I can’t stand their methods. They are too pompous, sel-righteous, and closed-minded. Don’t even get me started on the (appointed by the Supreme Court) guy in the Oval Office. So, that makes me an illogical liberal according to a lot of you. I read this site for info related to mens’ rights, but this extremist right-wing stuff is really a turnoff. It does sound like there are some moderate mens’ right folks, but I don’t see many online. By the way, I spent half my adult life in the military, including wartime. I hate hearing people say that I’m against our folks in uniform just because I don’t like the Reps’ tactics. That’s a real stretch.

    Roadkill,

Coward, like most liberals, you lack the courage of your convictions. You quack like a duck, you walk like a duck but you’re carrying a sign that says “I’m a rabbit.”

You claim that “there’s a lot you agree with in the Republican platform” but you declare that “their ideology keeps getting in the way of common sense and decency.” ???? Err…the platform is a statement of their ideology, or did you sleep through that day of class.

I guess you could say that you “agree in principle with the Republican platform” its just the specifics you dislike. Sounds like a Democrat Politician to me.

You are a flaming moonbat Liberal with all the intellectual dishonesty that entails.

Grow up and learn to stand up for what you believe. Stop trying to be both fish and fowl.

    thurston861 Says:

I liked the question at the title of this article.

Our nation’s position is clear by what the Founders wrote but we have failed to realize that objective and become more human, as execution is not retrebution of society, but the manifestation of the fact that society can do nothing else to save itself from the ravages of the guilty individual’s criminal nature.

In my study of foundational laws with a Rabbi, as the Torah law is the foundation of the Biblical law that the Founders were seeking justification under, the principle of avoiding suffering in the death of the subject was the focus.

The only thing I have seen in my inquiries since my discussion is the Orthodox means of ritual salaughter of animals where the jugular is cut and the blood returned to the ground.

Painless and quick. No nerves severed, no pain. Merciful and not degrading of our own humanity and manifestation of the image of G-D whom each man is to represent.

This begs the question, why kill man if he is claimed to be made in HIS image; how is this justified?

Simply, a man who will not be retrained by true laws of human society is a false image of G-D that cannot be preserved for its warring nature against human kind.

My final though on Saddam is this. How is he guilty of the stated crimes when the government we elected gave him all sorts of weapons and suported his actions to war against Iran, which lead to his unforgiven national debt, becasue we wanted him to fight Iran and not us?

Will former president Mitterand of France now be placed on trial for his support and military support of the genocide in Rwanda?

Was Milosovic guilty of genocide by actively standing against the encroaching Iran backed Sharia-Facists in Yugoslavia?

How can things be done in the name of justice when it is so selective?

Simply, it is not. this is just the law of the jungle.

    (It’s a trcik of back-lighting, right? A Holywood stunt?)

But the Shrub’s evangelical angels didn’t shine in the election, so sad.

Well, there’s always “The Rapture” to bet on….
