Frisco Democrat Mayor Says NO! to Democracy
On November 7, San Francisco voters passed Proposition I, which asked the mayor to appear before the Board of Supervisors once a month at a Q-and-A session to discuss city policy. Passage of Proposition 1 sent a clear message that San Francisco voters want their mayor to work with the supervisors, rather than against them.
San Francisco’s current mayor, Gavin Newson, was opposed to the proposition and following passage has thumbed his nose at the non-binding measure. Ever the liberal elitist, Newsom has given every indication that he does not intend to submit to the intellectual and moral snake pit known as the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, notwithstanding the wishes of the voting public.
Newsom’s reticence at a live Q-and-A session should come as no great surprise. His fascistic tendencies were well documented in 2004 when he took it on himself to declare California laws and voters inconsequential on the issue of same sex nuptials.
During that demonstration of manic obsession with power, Newsom personally presided over several same sex weddings on the steps of city hall. Despite all of his theatrics and grandstanding, Newson ended up looking foolish as all of his “weddings†were subsequently ruled null and void.
While it is unclear if Newsom’s modus operandi makes him suitable for higher office, precedent was established by Governor Gray Davis who oozed arrogance when he declared that the role of those in the California state Assembly was merely to implement his ideas.
Further, the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C. seems quite adept at ignoring laws he does not agree with, especially those concerning border security and illegal immigration.
If being obsessed with rule by fiat is a qualifying factor, perhaps Gov. Newsom, and then President Newsom, are future horrors for California and America.

America worked quite well until they allowed non-land-owners to vote. After that, the “what’s in it for me” notion took hold, and it’s been a slow death ever since.
Democracy has been a noble experiment for God knows how long. It has its affectionados but lets face it, it doesn’t work.
The Greeks gave it a good push off but since then it has picked up speed because it has been all downhill. They had the idea that people HAD to vote. Some, that is. Not everyone. Australia insists we all turn up but doesn’t make us cast a vote, which is good as many people are thick as two short planks. And this is the major problem with democracies everywhere. Thick people. Half the population are dim. Below average intelligence. It isn’t a good idea that they vote. There should be an IQ test to see if a person should be included on the rolls.
I would restrict voting even further. Only those intelligent folk who contribute to the public purse should vote on how the purse is spent. The churning of public monies should rule out too. Anyone paid from the public purse should be disallowed a vote, no matter how smart they think they are. No public servant should have the vote. No recipient of a Government handout should be able to vote. Academics in Publicly supported Universities would be banned from voting.
It should be easy enough to create a fair roll of voters from the previous year’s tax returns. Anyone who pays tax from a non-public money source could vote – as long a they were smart enough – but all others not. Recipients should be content with being supported. That includes the adult family members who do not bring the money in to pay the taxes. Just think what that would do to the feminist lobby! Smart-arse couch-potato kids would be sent packing from the booths. Stay at home dads and mums would have to shut up and count their blessings.
One might argue this way and that against my view but lets face it. In modern democracies far too many people don’t care enough about voting even to bother turning out at the polls.
let’s get back to the original idea and start pushing uphill. Only the intelligent and contributing should vote. Counting time would be quite short.
