[...] If that isn’t a classic example of Corporate Welfare by anyone’s standards I don’t know what it would take to qualify. The recipient of Pelosi’s welfare just happens to also have its corporate headquarters located in her home town. Coincidence, I’m sure. Madam Speaker has flip-flopped on the issue but only because she got caught. Since she got caught her excuse was raising minimum wage hurts the economy, but apparently only in American Samoa. Ethics, Pelosi style. Which other Democrat politician stood to gain from American Samoa? John Kerry: Pelosi said she’s never gotten campaign donations or been lobbied by StarKist or Del Monte Foods. Uh huh. Well then, why reward that company for moving jobs out of her district and allowing them to pay far below national minimum wage? Something’s fishy beyond the tuna. [...]

This Samoa exemption is proof that even the most ardent, socialist supporters of the M/W recognize it means layoffs, and layoffs mean angry voters.

Samoans, it's reported, vote mainly DNC candidates, and although they may not carry as much weight as say Rhode Island, it would still look bad if suddenly thousands of layed off Sunkist workers switched parties.

Nancy Pelosi has promised Big Nanny when she picked up the gavel last week. She is also under the illusion that the men in her own party will actually let her run the show. Queen Nancy (actually Cindy Sheehan with money and nice hair) is going to find out very soon that even the girly-men in her own party don't really intend to let her run anything. They will soon buck her un-natural authority, not just because she's a dizzy bitch without a clue, but also because there is nothing sincere in the DNC about truly respecting women in power, or respecting women period.

I can't wait till Nancy starts crying in her high chair and yelling "no fair, you said I could be the boss". That day will come, and soon. As sure as it rains in April Nancy Pelosi will unravel.
