Evolution in action

This has been all over the radio.

A leading Islamic doctor is urging British Muslims not to vaccinate their children against diseases such as measles, mumps, and rubella because they contain substances making them unlawful for Muslims to take.

As Instapundit notes, “think of it as evolution in action”.  If this advice is followed by the jihadist Muslims, their numbers will decrease.  This might help to offset some of the demographic trends noted by Mark Steyn.

Not Likely. I am not a Muslim. I did not have my children vacinated.

      They did not get sick.

      One Dr., a Pediatric
Oncologist with Johns Hopkins said of my children if they are healthy and strong, you do not have to worry.

There are risks with vacinations that not everyone should accept.

In order for your idea here to work, consider weaponization of those diseases.

You probably don’t have much to worry about, but only because everyone else’s children DID get vaccinated.

Just hope that they don’t travel to third world countries when they grow up, because they won’t have protection against many of the diseases that have been pretty much eradicated in the more developed countries.

thurston861: As wblackburn points out, the reason your children didn’t get sick was not because of any particular virtue inherent in your way of life. Rather, you rolled the dice, and won. Congratulations.

Because most of the population is vaccinated, rates of occurrence for a number of diseases are very low, and your chance of hitting the jackpot is similarly low.

But if everybody did what you did, it wouldn’t be long before we started seeing outbreaks of some very nasty diseases. Whooping cough “merely” kills one victim in 75 or so, and spreads readily enough it can be considered “self-weaponizing”.

      Polio can be really nasty.

You cannot argue w/ the purists who do not vaccinate, use holistic medicine, and eat exclusively organic food all w/ a religiosity that makes Islam look like a weak faith.
