Sen. Joe Biden describing Sen. Barack Obama
These words have unleashed a whirlwind of controversy; Sen. Biden has been called everything from an idiot to a racist.
As I explained in my “Joe Biden’s Description of Barack Obama Lands Him In Hot Water” essay, I believe that Biden’s statement has the ring of truth.

“Civil rights activist Al Sharpton on Thursday took Sen. Joe Biden to task for calling Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama “articulate” and “clean,” questioning how the description reflects on other blacks.”
Let’s examine how Biden’s description reflects on the Rev. Al Sharpton.
Sen. Barack Obama is clean as a whistle, the only significant stain on his character is his use of cocaine as a young man.

The television show HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel showed a 1983 FBI videotape in which Al Sharpton is seen talking about laundering drug money with former mobster Michael Franzese, a Mafioso-turned-undercover-FBI informant posing as a cocaine dealer.

“In 1987, black teenager Tawana Brawley claimed that six white law enforcement officers — including then-assistant district attorney Steven Pagones — had abducted and raped her, scrawled racial insults on her body and smeared her with feces.
Miss Brawley refused to speak with authorities or the media, but Sharpton and her two other advisers were soon making wild claims. Sharpton compared then-state Attorney General Robert Abrams, a Jew, to Adolf Hitler. All three linked then-Gov. Mario Cuomo to organized crime and the Ku Klux Klan.
Within a year, a grand jury announced the story was a hoax and specifically cleared a Fishkill police officer and Pagones. Pagones sued Sharpton and the other 2 advisers for more than $150 million for defamation.”
Al Sharpton is a sleazy opportunist who loves the spotlight as much as a vulture loves carrion. But some say, at least he’s articulate. Bullcrap! Barrack Obama is articulate; Tony Blair is articulate — Al Sharpton has the cadence of a snake oil salesman. Because a buffoon appeals to man’s baser instincts, and riles up their emotions, that does not make him articulate.
I’m seriously considering voting for Sen. Barack Obama for president, but I wouldn’t vote for Al Sharpton as dog catcher.

“Racist”? Probably not. “Idiot” most definitely. As for the “Reverend” Al, I don’t see much difference between him and your hero Hugo Chavez. Both of these demagogues appeal to the passions and prejudices of their followers. Both racists demonize whites or in Hugos case “gringos” for political reasons. So, to sum it all up, Biden probably not a racist, but is an idiot. Sharpton and Chavez, they pull off the double, both idiotic and racist.
