According to the official record, Mr. Singer was jailed for refusing a judge’s order to pay his ex-wife’s lawyer $ 100,000 – about half of what he owes for her legal representation during their six-year tug-of-war over marital assets. According to Mr. Singer, he is an inmate in a modern-day debtor’s prison.

The feminists should be all over this, demanding the Honorable Judge Robert A. Ross, release this 71 year old man. The feminist should demand the judge allow the ex-wife pay her own bill, the $200,000 owed this crook of a lawyer defending her.

Notice how the Honorable Judge Robert A. Rose is a former divorce lawyer? It’s one big money racket – a former divorce lawyer is now judge and throwing men in jail – a 100 so far – and this one is 71 years old! – for not paying an outrageous bill to a fellow member of the bar. They’ll no doubt meet at the 19th hole and dicuss further strategy.

And shame on you Marvin, you should have never hired a lawyer in the first place. You lost the day you gave your attorney his retainer. This case would have ended years ago if you weren’t paying an attorney.

I notice it’s “always husbands” they throw in jail.

That happens, of course, because the courts enforce HIS obligations but do not enforce HER obligations.

Maybe I missed it, but who filed and on what grounds (if any, but NY does have some laws that require cause I believe).
My favorite cases are the ones where she files a no fault divorce, he has earned a solid living, he must fork over thousands and thousands to pay for her to take his thousands and thousands more.

    I love this country

The media is asking the question.

It is time to ask this writer back, how many before the commission on the Courts asked for Court Orders against women to be enforced?

This is a sign of movement, and there are lawyers on our side, who remain nameless!???

    Why?

    Because they fear the Courts?

But are not the Courts about Justice?

Then it is clear they are not, and there are some who know of the scam.

Many, many more men need to hold the courts in contempt. The courts are contemptible. Many more men will need to tell these Feminazi-bitch Judges that they can shove their biased, anti-male orders up their fat arses. All hail this 71 y/o who refuses to bow his knee to such infamous, blackmailing, extorting judgements. He is The Man.

    Charles Fockaert Says:

He most certainly is. I have acquantances telling me to get over it and move on. We’ll never beat this guys. This man just did. He didn’t bend the knee.

Watch The Passion of Christ again – when Jesus is getting scourged by the sadistic Roman guards. When they think they’ve finished Him off, and He’s almost on the ground, they think they’ve beaten him.

However, despite the immense pain and humiliation He had just suffered, He gets up to His feet again.

As long as He had the strength to straighten His knees, He did. Tyrants don’t like that. They want everyone to bend the knee.

Eh… those were Asyrians. Mercenaries in the Roman Army. thorns in the forehead were one of their favorite tortures.

So what compelling interest of government justifies the extortion of debtor’s prison for attorney’s fees?
Perhaps a US grand jury can look into this practice for consideration of indictment for crime of peonage under 18 U.S.C. §1581.

    thanks for that, didn’t know.

I wonder how Judge Ross would like weekend pickets out side his home in protest until Singer is released?

And the lawyer’s office/home too, for that matter?
