Man imprisoned over failure to pay $ 50,000 in child support

An Akron man was sentenced to 11 months in prison Monday for failing to pay child support for four children.

   I couldn’t find the part where it said the mother was put in prison for failure to pay $50,000 to the father. Did I miss it?

   During the 19th Century many states, including Ohio, placed prohibitioins of imprisonment for debtr into their constitutions to prevent exactly this.
   Article I Section 1 of the Ohio Constitution declares the inalienable rights of all men, including the right to acquire, possess, and protect property. Apparently does not apply to those ordered to pay child support.
   Article I Section 4 of the Ohio Constitution declares the right of the people to bear arms for their defense and security. God help us if noncustodial parents start doing that!
   Article I Section 6 of the Ohio Constitution prohibits slavery and involuntary servitude. Apparently does not apply to those ordered to pay child support.
   Article I Section 9 of the Ohio Constitution prohibits excessive fines and bails and cruel and unusual punishments. Apparently does not apply to excessive child support.
   Article I Section 15 of the Ohio Constitution prohibits imprisonment for debt except in cases of fraud. Apparently child support is a fraud!

   RK, it would seem you are right. However, liberals and conservatives judges alike have proven they will cherry-pick the Constitution of any state, and the US Constitution itself. One best give up on trying to salvage what must, at this point, be replaced with more effective tools like the free market. If this guy in Akron gets raped in prison, maybe the 401K company in charge of the judge’s retirement should hand his savings over to the rape victim as compensation? Anyone have a problem with that?

   With regard to the Constitutional issues, on private property, we do not use, and do not need, any Constitution in our daily lives. When is the last time you whipped out the Constitution and subsequently got a lower price at the grocery store? I no longer believe in the mythical unicorn of judicial idealism. To defend it, is like defending the dental care of leprechauns living in another dimension. It’s good, but where does it get you?

   And many innocent men are being held at Gitmo and other ’secret’ interrogation cells around the world and nary a whisper of dissent from many of you. If you don’t raise your voice in protest against the abuse of these men, why should you be surprised if no one sees or joins in your protest about dads being incarcerated?

   The abuse is the same, different people, those society has been trained to accept that this abuse is legit.

   Wake-up.

   If the court is going to claim authority and legitimacy due to following the societal construct, we must expose that lie and show that it is not benevelent authority, but a corrupt organization, a money racket.

   Once a person blows a moral fuse (ie. becomes a dirtbag who feels entitled to take other’s money by force) that person is never coming back from it. Liberals have blown their fuse decades ago, and conservatives now blown every fuse imaginable. If you want to stop abuses on the other side of the world, it is better then we start FIRST in our own neighborhoods and households.

   Sure Charles, I’ll wake up. Your friends, or your family, who still imply they are politically keen on having you killed or imprisoned for refusing to financially fund Mr. Bush’s war, or any project not funded by your own choice, and you let them do that, then that is complacency too. Maybe they are totally out of your life, in which case you are truly backing your words with action.

   I’m not sure I follow your point in your comment, but my point was: there is a bigger picture here that many are not seeing. Too many refuse to admit that there it is possible for one group one internationally organized system that is capable of planning and carrying out a war against an entire culture - in this case Western culture - with the intent to destroy it. Separating dads from their children and then financially destroying the father so he can’t fight back is part of their strategy. Sending another 200,000 men off to be killed for ‘foreign policy’ is another. Meanwhile, back home, families are having a tough go and many break-up. A broken family an’t fight as effectively as a intact family.

   I could go on, but this is only a comment.

    Personally, I’ll go after the dupes and agents of such a conspiricy tooth and nail, just to inspire other agents that they might reconsider their alliance, as their current masters canmnot protect them.

    It sure beats the hell out of staring in dumb awe at the size of the sky. Get with the program or get out of the way please.
