Over the years, America has been richly blessed with men who have served with distinction and honor while Vice President.
Names like Harry Truman, Richard Nixon, Spiro Agnew, and Dan Quayle come to mind as examples of great Americans giving their all for this great nation.
While the aforementioned deserve non-stop accolades and the sincere appreciation of all Americans, none has approached the heroic bravery and valor displayed by our current Veep, the honorable Dick Cheney.
In specific, the Veep visited Afghanistan and immediately became the target of an assassination attempt by a Jihadist with a message of good will from Allah. A calling card from the “Religion of Peace,” if you will.
But while Cheney escaped unscathed, his visit caused Mullah Obaidullah Akhund, a top Taliban leader, to overreach. As a result, the terrorist was arrested in Pakistan.
Dick Cheney is credited with providing critical information to Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf, which led to apprehension of the terrorist.
Of course, critics are quick to dismiss Cheney’s heroics by rehashing the lawyer-shooting story from last year.
But, what the heck, let’s cut the Veep some slack.
After all, mistaking a Texas lawyer for a terrorist is not necessarily all bad!
