My estranged other half commented one day, that all I wanted her for was sex...

I responded with " I will never demand sex from you again, if you want it, just ask".

Made for some very interesting situations, let me tell you. The look on her face told me that this outcome was not what she wanted. By putting the onus on her, she had to totally change her attitude and it completely deflated her argument.

She tried to use the sex angle against me for leverage and I just passed that "load" back to her.

She was so confused that she used to ask me for advice....

Someone better tell my girlfriend to get with their program.

One might mistaken her at work for a feminist type, but there is none of this crud I got for 14 years of marriage and that we read here. She cannot wait to be degraded by being desired by a man, and strange as it is, she never asks me to do anything...but her.

It is probably the marriage thing and not the 40 thing.

Since I am cured of marriage I will not succumb to that infection to harm the lady.

hey Con... sorry about your friend having to join us in our revelations. His wife's response was actually telling of which sex is not emotionally available.

Strange how women are emotionally effected by rape but not by intimacy with their husbands, as there is no emotional component to marital sex?

Who murdered the passion that will make this man be a sound loop of "yes dear"?

Feminism accounts for the bulk of why women over 40 are disinterested in sex. If you buy the notion of what sex represents to a femininst, then is it any wonder she has an aversion? A couple centuries ago, we are led to believe that prudish victorianism was a hindrance to sex...bullshit, the Marquis de Sade and his jolly band of lunch bunch punchers were having plenty of it, even supersized it Steven.
A friend just told me a funny and ironic story today. he (like me) is mid to late 40's and he has been having lots of trouble with the wife and her willingness to, well, nudge nudge, you know...to "go" wink wink know what i mean. And strangely, just last night she apparently physically blocked his exit from a room and dammit demanded that she provide conversational intimacy then and there on the spot.
When he eagerly then tried to at least show the parallel and feeling that after years of impasse he could break the code and she'd finally "get it", she, when faced with his comparing physical and conversational intimacy, said, "yes, but that which I crave carries an emotional component" {and therefore naturally is a far superior quest, not?}
By all accounts this woman would NOT be a feminist. She and the entire family would appear, to the untrained MRM eye, to be very traditional and never succumbing to feminist influences, yet here it was right between the eyes. I've been trying to bring him round, open his eyes as it were, to this aspect of insidious feminism in society, in church, everywhere, and his call to me today was indeed to say he finally gets what Ive been saying. From that revelation last evening he laid awake and derived much right thinking on the great gender divide.

Steven, you forgot the additional parts, after the dinners and movies, about them getting down on one knee to offer us diamonds and a lifetime supporting us in the manner to which we've become accustomed. I'm constantly amazed at the extent to which many women say they want relationships, set against how little they do to create and build them.

And I've always gotten a kick out the common pop-feminist jab that men are at their sexual apex at age eighteen, and then increasingly running on fumes thereafter. I always like to point out that that's because women are at their sexiest at about that same age. One of the biggest disservices the feminacentric mainstream media does to women is to tell them that by their 'growing' and getting more demanding and picky as they age that they actually increase in mate value -- which might be a possibility if they weren't still passive and thus relying so much on their looks.

Men over forty also have less interest in sex, compared to age 14. Susan Dietz who writes a column for singles in today's paper suggested that women are the "gate keepers" for sex. I guess all guys want it all the time and women have the red or green light. I wrote to her and suggested that when women who are "interested" or attracted to guys started asking them out in the same numbers as guys who are "interested" or attracted to women do, with invitations to movies, dinner, women would find that not all those guys who would be willing to take a free dinner or moive would automatically want to have sex with them.

I have always enjoyed these "generalizations" ... I see the crowd at Safeway, or worse, Baskin and Robbins - aging, out of shape, those who are addicted to the popular U.S. diet of "supersize" ... I wouldn't be surprised to learn that most men and women lose interest in sex after 40 when I see how badly out of shape these people and their partners are. I am not sure what is normal for people in a culture where it's getting close to 2/3rds are approaching obese.
