Newt and Slick Willie: Equally Reprehensible?

Revelations about former Speaker Gingrich’s extra-marital affair while he was pursuing Bill Clinton’s scalp for impeachment are titillating, but only to those seek to fill their hollow skulls with unmitigated pap.

In other words, liberals have not been this excited since Viet Nam fell to the communists!

While it is true that both Gingrich and Slick fell victims to lust and debauchery, it is not true that their transgressions were equally serious.

In the case of President William Jefferson Clinton, it was never about a “private matter between consenting adults,” despite the nonsensical spin fabricated by liberals like Laney Davis and other Clinton apologists.

Rather, Bill Clinton stood accused of perjury, subornation of perjury, and obstruction of justice.

Mr. Clinton’s felony crimes–not his sexual dalliances– lead to his impeachment, disbarment in Arkansas, and revocation of his right to argue before the United States Supreme Court. The later two sanctions were subsequently lifted with the passage of time.

Given his position of power, Clinton was surely guilty of sexual harassment as well, both as president and while Governor of Arkansas.

In fact, if Clinton had been a Republican, liberals in Congress, egged on by feminist nut cases, would have pressed for his immediate castration, followed by impeachment and removal from office.

As it was, NOW and other feminist organizations seemed more interested in midnight basketball than the deliberate and premeditated stalking of young females by the most powerful man on earth.

Newt and Slick: Equally reprehensible? Don’t you believe it!

What part of “let he who is without sin cast the first stone” is too difficult for you to understand?

Confessing your sin is only ONE part of the process. Actually being remorseful is more important, and stopping the action(s) is most important of all. Not doing any one of these three means you’re doing NONE of them.

If you can’t do them all, you don’t receive forgiveness. Unless, of course, you are a liberal Democrat. Then you don’t need to do ANY of them, just go to “rehab”, and you’ll not only receive full absolution, you’ll be held up as a role model.

I care not about what the bible says when it comes to politics. The bible is not a book intended to make a worldly difference in daily financial matters of earthly survival.
      NO it is not!.
The proper perspective in this instance should be the equal application of judgment upon both men for their words, deeds, capacity to address the truth and liklyhood to lead others responsibly and as selflessly as possible. You allegation of human frailty is a pointles road, all humans being frail. Likely most every person seeking the type of power available in political office has practiced assumption of sexual power along the way as verification that they are entitled to manipulate the masses professionally. Gingrich admited what had to be there in the shadows as a liability, Clintons one or two have not admitted even the obvious, providing diversions bearded by others. The wives had different agendas and have made different responses. for their purposes.
The Bible is not a book applicable to human politics. One can be a just man on earth and not be directly beholden to the New Testament. meticulously followed the NT cannot be followed while maintianing middle class lives. It is in essence a purely socialist doctrine in its major points.
      Yes, it is!
There are no men or women left alive if sin was equal to earthly death. Heavenly redemption is not translatable to worldly affairs, and each man needs be judged by his own charactor and fidelity to the truth and his kind as worldly perfection yet eludes us all…

Furthermore, selection of a leader isnt based on finding perfection, but based on ones skill, vision and charactor that maximizes results and responsibility for what is promised and what is needed. Endless debate is possible regarding which of varios champions did what and how and why. Steely appraisal is needed regarding what they did, what they didnt do and who took credit for it all. In real life one has only to choose from available options that present themselves, not from a list of perfect ones promised as a gift from heaven…

Clara Harris murdered her husband because he was having an affair. “Everyone”, Oprah, and even the female prosecutor at the murder trial called the murder victim a “cheating husband” and a “scumbag”.
But at the same time we say “No excuse for domestic violence.”
Which precisely what Clara Harris did.
And we call Bill Clinton “Mr. President”, Rudy Giuliani “America’s mayor”, and Newt Gingrich “Mr. Speaker”.
Jesus’ suggestion, “Go and sin no more” is apparently the advice only David Harris can take, as the wages of his sin were indeed death. His wife lives on as a guest of the taxpayers.
Too bad she cannot be made to share a cell with Scott Peterson!

Repub. who gave us no fault divorce and not the liberals and the Conservatives spend just as much time demonizing and oppressing the male gender with their policies as the Liberals…

      3) Liberals want to turn american into a socialist state while Conservatives want to turn america into a theoracy in the same way that the roman catholic church ruled over europe after the fall of pagan rome…

      4) Tyranny is Tyranny no matter how one slices and dices it or calls it and that is the goal of both the Liberals and Conservatives…I want neither and just want to be left alone to live my life in peace but know that neither lib’s or con’s will allow that…Therefore I will continue to fight both until something better comes along…

May I recommend soduku while you wait for your political messiah?
Absolutists will always find fault and use that as an excuse to sit, feigning rage and superiority and succeed at nothing whatsoever, save the knowledge of their own privilige.
Normally this is a liberals game, finding fault in others and excuses for themselves…

Name calling, finding fault in others while excusing themselves and double standards is a game that both liberals and conservatives play…The difference is that the Liberals don’t protray themselves to be godly as the Conservatives do and it’s guys like you on both sides that let them get away with this extremely feminine behaviour…

      Now consider this:

      Strange Bedfellows

MRA’s (Men’s Rights Activitists) often complain and rightly so about the male gender being denied their due process rights in the family court system…However what I find strange as to be almost beyond belief is that these very same men whole heartedly and quite willingly consent to support the Conservative Republican party…The very group that intentionalyly and deliberately with malice and forethought seeks to do away with the due process rights of an individual who has been accused (quite often falsely so) of a crime…

Now listen up real good boys: If ya want the men’s rights movement to be taken seriously then stop suporting those whose only motavation is to gain your vote while planning to intentionally stab ya in the back after they have used you like a two bit whore…

You libidiots have been using this exact straw man for six years now - telling us how all our rights are being taken away right in front of our eyes. But the problem is - we don’t know anyone who’s rights have been denied, and neither do you. Sorry about the Guys from Gitmo, but war sucks, and being a terrorist who got caught must really suck. If any of them are innocent, well, as I said, war sucks. Hopefully the war won’t last forever.

As for all the inconveniences at airports (which is the closest thing we have to having something taken away from us), well you don’t have a constitutional right to fly, much less a right to carry combustibles on a plane (I looked all over the constitution - hard. It’s not there.) Deal with it or walk, I don’t care.

Somewhere there is a place where people who understand reality dwell. But not here, for here is where finer points of fantasy are debated. Here is where random microseconds in time are dissected with electron microscopes.
Here is where obvious trends are ignored, where the emperors new clothes are tirelessly debated, where the guaranteed finding of fault and flaws of those that don’t provide perfection gives each contributor an out and a hall pass from the school of reality. Regardless, Marxist true believer or BoR purist, fantasy documents about absolute priviliges are an unachievable guideline and are not meant to be taken at face value. Could it be that some compromise and some value judgments will have to be made before distributing wonderful ‘unalienable rights’ to all? Sadly there is a world of reality where wise, responsible men take action and follow their achievable beliefs without compromise, but not here, and not now, for we wait for the day and time where perfection will be pulled from a box or squeezed from a tube without effort…

Dabir is on the right track. To focus clear consistent PRINCIPLES on the issue is the only thing that makes a difference. Otherwise, there is no objective standard. It is just a shouting match.

If you believe your car is worth $10,000, you heavily advertise it, and it’s on the market for five years, with the only offers of $2,000 popping up, then you have been proven wrong. Aside from violent conflicts, politics is exactly like economics. The feminists have simply made their brand of awful perfume less stinky and more politically “affordable” than most conservatives have. So they get a break on their flavor of violence. It is counterproductive to tell people who want a better deal that their only other choice sucks too.

There is a concern that perfection will never arrive, just as you reget never getting $10,000 from your used car. But it is clearly an obvious thing that one cannot punch a buyer in the face, and then complain about the economic detriment of you having been punched in the face in the past. Instead, as as consumer of political philoposphy, we demand either a lower price, or a better product. A gun pointed at you with a “take it or leave it” attitude poisons this efficient process, and liberals and conservatives are both doing the same in this regard.

When one says “I believe X, which sucks, but you have to live with it” clearly they are not prescribing that same behavior for others to follow. Unless you are talking about private property, or there is an objective standard, anybody can say the same to the speaker in return with no different of an absolute moral stance.

This is basic stuff that does not require perfection or any “higher reality” to avoid the bad kind of behavior. It only requires unlearning the lies of the politicians, and therefore aquiring an understanding of logic and economics.

You’re getting as bad as Stephoney. Blather and if if if doesnt get it, doesnt stop reality and doesnt get you off the hook. Life is winners or losers, not if if if. Like most including Stephoney, the mouth music and word-o-rrhea tries to avoid the obvious actions that one must personally take, not expect to be provided for. The constant effort of Stephoney et al is to always put someone ELSE on the hook for the cash, the work and the responsibility while he oversees things from an easy chair which he claims is uncomfortable enough to just to sit in. That is the hallmark of his kind, the opposite of conservative, which does not happen to be the same as Republican or Libertarian which are parties, not philosophies.
Wanna-be BoR dudes similarly expect that rights will be dropped off at the corner with the papers while they sit. Meanwhile they sit and do nothing because they want perfection achieved out of the gate. There is no reality testing in this, there are no consumer-grade rights that one can expect at discount. The peoples maintainance has lapsed, the officers of the court have prevailed in redefining words to their will. There is will only for entertainment, none for improvement. Producing nothing, we worry about protection of an insect, yet leave open the door to our own real destruction. Tell me which liberties have been wrested from power by petition and compromise, which battles have been won by leasing the weapons and services of the enemy? Can’t you see past your consumeroid training to be effective anymore? It is not the blather and skill with words about morals and belief, it is about making things work in real life, and to do that is no accident. That’s what the libs want, to believe hard enough to make flesh from fantasy without their own input of resources or effort. Be careful you’re not cut from the opposite end of the same loaf…
