“He was smart, he was dynamic, he was inspiring and he was a Catholic. A lot of people back then [1960] said, ‘America will never elect a Catholic as president.’ But those who gathered here almost a half century ago knew better. They believed America was bigger than that and Americans would give Sen. John F. Kennedy a fair shake, and the rest, as they say, is history. So when people tell me, or one of the pundits says, ‘I don’t think a woman can be elected president,’ I say we’ll never know unless we try.”
ÂÂÂ
Who had the audacity to compare herself to President John F. Kennedy? It’s very risky to equate yourself to JFK, just ask Dan Quayle.
ÂÂÂ
Let’s see who is smart, dynamic and inspiring? There’s Angelina Jolie, the actress and goodwill ambassador for the U.N. is certainly intelligent and inspiring. Condi Rice is smart and well qualified, but she’s more scholarly than inspiring. Sen. Feinstein is smart and has a good grasp of the issues, but she doesn’t have the vigor of a young visionary.
ÂÂÂ
It’s Hillary Clinton who compared herself to JFK — you can stop laughing now. Come on now, doesn’t the middleaged, shrill, boring nag remind you of a young John F. Kennedy?
ÂÂÂ
Kennedy was an eloquent speaker; Hillary fluctuates between shrill and condescending. Kennedy had the strength and determination of a young warrior; Hillary is an old pol who is determined to win by any means necessary. Kennedy inspired us to reach for the moon; Hillary inspires us to throw the remote at the TV screen whenever we hear her shrill voice.
ÂÂÂ
If it’s someone like JFK you’re seeking, forget about shrill Hill, Sen. Barack Obama is your man.
