The lamestream media told you:

Oscar ratings continue to slide, as competition for viewer time, reduction of exclusive star status from the golden Bogie/Bacall days, non-stop overexposure of every minor scantily clad trollop, a numbing glut of awards shows and instant idol status for wannabees continue to tarnish Oscar’s image.

This year’s audience was up by a slight 0.004, even though the number of TV sets in U.S. homes grew.

The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:

Unmentioned in lamestream reports on the slipping ratings for the Academy Awards are the real reasons so many Americans no longer idolize Hollywood:

Hopelessly debauched and depraved films of mindless violence that depend more on effects and camera work than scripts and acting; hopelessly one-sided manipulative propaganda videos nominated and winning as documentaries years in a row (Michael Moore and now Al Gore); and hosting this year by a person who makes a mockery of American values, the American family, cares more for green Hollywood multiculti-isms than red-blooded JohnWayne-isms, and is considered by tens of millions of citizens a borderline degenerate, Ellen DeGeneris (I know I’m going to take heat for calling her “borderline”).

    The Oscars have lost their value as they hand out the award, year after year to films that are kitsch. How can one take such films as Brokeback Mountain, Crash, Million Dollar Baby? They are the very definition of kitsch, and they are awarded for best actor for a sodomite, best film for…..

    To gain any credibility, they should come out and say this years film offerings have been so bad that we cannot in good conscience give an award for best picture. Same for Best Actor if the shoe fits.

    And it would certainly help matters if the “authorities” who determine which individuals receive such awards were to base their votes on criteria OTHER THAN political correctness or political agenda, rather than anything as mundane as actual quality of acting/writing/directing…………

    This just in from Hollywood– “people who don’t watch the Oscars are racist homophobes.” Most of America has finally caught on: people who make a living pretending to be someone else are not the real heroes. The narcissism that pervades the industry hasn’t allowed that truth to penetrate.
    “What’s sad is how far hollywood has fallen from the days of the Duke.” And I, for one, have absolutely no desire to spend several hours watching Hollywood get down on its knees and worship itself. The fact that the so-called “art” being fawned over is often nothing more than increasingly perverse celluloid propaganda epics, merely compounds the felony.

    Hollywood wallowing in lesbianism seems appropriate. Self-interested, cannot stay in a relationship, totally abusive, riddled with diseases and hopefully will suffer from the reduced lifespan as well.
