I’m sad to note that Catherine Seipp, a talented writer and a witty, intelligent lady, has died of lung cancer in a Los Angeles hospital at age 49. I didn’t know Cathy well–she appeared on His Side with Glenn Sacks in 2004, we occasionally slammed each other in columns or internet posts, and occasionally exchanged emails. She was a very good writer–witty, and very willing both to dish it out and to take it. The National Review, one of the venues where she wrote, has a nice section called “A Fond Farewell: Friends and fans remember Cathy Seipp” which can be found here.

It’s small consolation, but at least Seipp lived long enough so that her daughter, to whom she was very devoted, graduate high school and begin college.
