I Agree with the Feminists on this One

I’m no expert on the Emergency Contraception issue but I think the feminists are right on it, and they just scored a success. According to Planned Parenthood:

“Wal-Mart has signed onto Planned Parenthood’s pharmacy policy on emergency contraception (EC), also known as the ‘morning-after pill.’ This means that Wal-Mart will provide EC in-store, without delay. Over the past few years, Wal-Mart pharmacies have been notorious for not stocking EC or refusing to provide it even when it was in stock. And without a clear corporate policy, the pharmacies were not held accountable.

“Under the new policy, Wal-Mart has committed to:

“1) ensure that customers receive their prescriptions or over-the-counter (OTC) products in-store, without discrimination (no harassment or lectures), without delay, without judgment or regard for the number of refills prescribed or, in the case of OTC products, requested.

“2) stock emergency contraception in every store in which one or more customers request the product.

“3) ensure timely access to out-of-stock medication by offering to order the medication or refer the customer to another pharmacy that stocks the medication.

“4) circulate and enforce these policy and procedures corporation-wide.”

I only agree when the time comes men are treated with equality regarding reproductive rights.

As it stands men have no reproductive rights what-so-ever and women are the sole arbiters of reproduction. She didn’t get pregnant by herself, so why should she be the SOLE arbiter to decide, and abort.

I agree if the father has to give consent, and then she can do it. Other than that, this is not right, nor equal.

The fathers are treated as nothing more than sperm donors at best, a wallet at worst.

Yet, it is alright with society for things to remain this way?

I disagree, on the basis of “property rights.”

EC is a non-critical, no-lifesaving medication. A private entity is under no obligation, moral, ethical, or otherwise to provide it.

I have a computer business. As a private entity, I, and I alone, prescribe the extents of my service. I may refuse to work with certain brands of software or hardware. I may decline certain services. If my clients are displeased, they go elsewhere. If this concerns me, I should, perhaps, reconsider my refusal.

Had this been Wal-Mart’s private decision, I would support it. It was made, however, under duress and the threat of lawsuit, and as such, capitulation by Wal-Mart is cowardly, and erodes further private property rights, and extends state control into yet another fact of private life.

Hiss and Boo to the noodlespines at Wal-Mart for caving.

I disagree with Gonzman that this is a matter of Wal-Mart caving in. I suspect that Wal-Mart just wants to make money selling the morning-after pill and they are willing to make it a condition of employment for their pharmacy employees, forcing them to assist in what at least some of them consider to be murder. This isn’t the first time that an employer has stepped on their employees’ beliefs like this.

Other than that, I agree with what Joi said.

Wal-Mart has been threatened with suits. They want to not lose money from defending them. On the one hand, caving is their right to do so. On the other hand, they are trading freedom for some temporary security.

As for forcing their employees – well, no. The Wal-Mart Stormtroopers are hardly out in force kicking down doors and forcing people with press gangs into employment. Don’t like what they order? Quit. Open your own pharmacy and refuse to sell EC.

Except you can’t – the big corporations who could afford to fight the lawsuits – like Wal-Mart – are caving.

Wal-mart have been bending over backwards to placate the feminasties and granting their ever increasing demands.

Bunch of spineless, gutless wimps would be the only way to describe them.

If a feminist ‘demands’ it, it is automatically suss. They NEVER mean what they say. The Princess of Lies, lies.

When the male birth control pill is finally developed, I look forward to seeing it made available at Wal*Mart and other fine drugstores.
After all, what pharmacist has any right to object to any man having fun without risking peonage?
Well he has that right but his competition would rather make the money selling the product!

Abortion linked to domestic violence, study finds
    http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/abortion-linked-to-domestic-violence-study-finds/2007/04/06/1175366479425.html

“Dr Taft said reducing violence against women was the key to reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies. ”

Now I do not know if this study asked about the women’s drug and alcohol usage.

It has been documented that in Australia more and more babies are being born to drug addicted mothers.

It seems to be clear that drug and alcohol use and abuse increases the risk of domestic violence. So poverty is a factor despite the feminists claims that affects all levels of society equally.

Im w/ Gonz on this one.

I’m 40 and happily married. But if I were younger and dating I would do the following.
If I thought there was even a remote chance of “scoring” that night, I would spike my date’s drink (not with GHB but) with Plan B. Which I believe is one step ahead of the morning after pill.

I’d say 60-90% of these women aren’t trustworthy, so screw em! I have a right to protect myself against an unfair slavery of 18yrs of child-support. Especially since (spiking that drink) is pretty much the only choice I will have in my reproductive freedom (other than condoms).
If all responsibilities (regarding procreation) are men’s and all choices (once there is conception) are women’s AND 50% of women think it’s okay to lie about contraception if they want a baby, and the partner doesn’t then women have only themselves to blame for inviting these low-down dirty tactics.

    1. I just don’t see it as a feminist issue.
    2. re Gonzo: Mall-Wart will do ANYTHING to ensure they hold a monopoly.
    3. Are these tagged with RFID chips and camera triggers, like mens razors?
    4. jackal1994 makes a good case, this IS OTC right!
    5. Any reason that these drugs aren’t sold in vending machines, 24 hour convieniance stores, right next to the Trojans?
    6. Is there a lemon-honey flavor? A Flinstones version?
    7. What are the projected “off lable” abuses for these?
    8. Do I find these next to the morning after hangover remedies?
    9. Will they come with a morning after regret rape report form in the box?
    10. Can we expect emergency regret herpes and clap OTC drugs anytime soon?
    11. Who does the inevitable liability suit fall on if the product is used (or mis-used) as directed, and fails?
    12. Where does the inevitable liability suit fall if the product is used, WORKS EXACTLY AS EXPECTED, yet the “consumer” claims a changed their mind at ANY time civil suit?

The feminists got “this one” right? I don’t think so.
Feminist dupes of big pharma, and Planned Parenthoods eugenic agenda, were certainly useful in “this one” though.

Meanwhile, NH is looking at new seatbelt laws. Apparently, the assumption of the NOW manditory “after the accident” second generationair(sic) bags was not enough to eradicate irresponsable human behavior. In fact, a growing minority seems to rely on their omnipitant forgiveness.

An aspect of Western society that has come under sustained attack from the radical feminist wing for three decades is the traditional family .If the family could be obliterated, crushed, broken down , sidelined as irrelevant or portrayed as no better than other methods of child rearing , radical feminism could set the agenda for centuries to come . Fathers are easy targets for a unbalanced gender bias system , hence all the problems with kids and fatherlessness issues .
