Alec Baldwin: Blame It On Parental Alienation

Who hasn’t left an abusive rant on the voice mail of a spouse, boss or friend? We’re infuriated  we can’t reach the object of our hatred and we unload our vitriol on the voice mail.

But a “dog bites man” story took on epic proportions when Alec Baldwin left extremely hurtful words on the voice mail of Ireland, his 11-year-old daughter. It’s one thing to call your daughter a little brat, it’s quite another to brand her a “thoughtless rude little pig.”

Baldwin should have immediately apologized publicly and privately to his daughter, and then just shut the hell up for once in his life.

But Baldwin feels he needs a fig leaf to cover up the ravages of his volatile temper, so he is blaming his reprehensible behavior on “parental alienation”.

Baldwin’s tirade against his daughter wasn’t an aberration, he loses his temper about as often as Oprah Winfrey reaches for a bon bon. If you are not a liberal, you’d better give Alec wide berth or he might tear your head off.

From AssociatedContent.Com:

“Baldwin has announced that he plans to write a book on the injustices that divorced dads go through. The book will be based off his divorce with Kim Basinger since they broke up in 2000. Baldwin spoke up about his writing intentions on ABC talk show, The View. The topic of the show was “parental alienation.”

Baldwin claims he lost his temper because his ex-wife keeps him from seeing his daughter. So he does something so beyond the pale, there’s a good chance a judge may deny the hot-tempered actor visitation rights. Yeah, makes perfect sense to me.

Parental alienation is a real problem, but Baldwin should not be using it as an excuse for going off on his daughter. If I want to learn about parental alienation I will read a book written by a mental health expert, and not one penned by a self-absorbed celebrity.
